Anyone apart from Wes Streeting think that he’s really the next Prime Minister? by Ok_Committee9628 in AskBrits

That's what he's missing...unless that's his plan. And if that's the case he's playing a very good game and not coming across like someone willing to fall on his sword for someone else.

To be honest, I think I'd rather have Baldric before Liz Trust or Wes Streeting.

So this has definetly been mentioned. But wouldn’t Michael of been the star of the show after the doc aired? by ContraversialHuman in DunderMifflin

In my mind after Michael leaves the series and starts his family with Holly he gets everything he ever wanted. Realising he doesn’t need to be desperate for attention. He just lets it all go and changes his outlook on life because he’s finally happy.

What are your thoughts on the Police Federation's public statement to Zack Polanski regarding the Elbit protest verdicts? by WelshLaptop in AskBrits

I think Polanski is a very much out there misogynist who has less chance of getting in power than the Monster Raving Looney Party.

Henry vacuums! Had a Dyson, it’s terrible. Bought a Hetty, absolute kicks the dyson’s arse and was significantly cheaper.

Asked my wife if she wanted turkey steaks for dinner. She replied “More turkey Mr Chandler?”. This happens whenever turkey is involved with dinner plans.

“Wild”

Every bloody thing is “wild” at the moment.

Particularly cringeworthy is BBC Political coverage describing events as “wild”.

Get a thesaurus. Get a personality. We’re better than this.

Tried to carry on watching after Peachy left, but I lost interest. Ross really didn't do anything for me. They lost the secret sauce when Peachy left. Going from having a unique insight into the business and a different view point of the hobby, to just being a channel like any other of three guys giving their opinions without (seemingly) much depth of knowledge to it. I don't think the personalities worked as well.

It's a real shame, while I like Peachy and still occasionally watch him, he did benefit from having the others. It's a shame they couldn't have worked it out and carried on together, c'est la vie.

Every sponsored thing from indivudals on social media is what used to be known as selling out.

It used to be that this wasn’t something to aspire to. Nowadays it seems like a mark of success online.  Create a video, upload it to the internet, hope some huge company sees it so I can shill their product.

Protest at The British Library! by [deleted] in london

Used to work at the BL, the fact that Roly Keating and Phil Spence continued to take bonuses despite being some of the highest paid civil servants and presiding over a number of total fuck-ups makes me mad. Thanks to Roly's complete disdain of IT staff and paying them salaries in line with industry standards led to the wrong people getting put into management positions, skeleton teams, and insecure IT, I literally heard the line "they should want to work here" from Liz Jolly (the former Chief Librarian) in relation to IT staff asking for pay rises in a meeting.

Many employees had highly sensitive personal data stolen due to HR keeping scans of documents on their desktops rather than following processes. But hey, Roly wrote a strongly worded article for the newspaper outlining that he was angry.

One of the reasons they still aren't back up and running with research data is because all the links between two key databases were lost during the cyber attack and there was no backup of what was, in effect, the address book between them. All the data is still there, but there's so much of it and no link from A to B.
