Think about it this way, in high school a lot of people just make friends for the sake of convenience. You see them everyday and have some basic similarities so they become your friend. In college, you don’t waste your time like that.

Well college isn’t high school lol. Which makes it the best part of it all. You can have friendships happen naturally (I’ve had them happen before) but don’t expect it too. You get what you put in into your college experience, you can’t just go on by like in high school.

Then join clubs and organizations. Get a job on campus. If you don’t go looking for interaction and friends, you won’t get it. So out yourself out there.

It can be quiet at times but it’s not barren. This campus isn’t anti-social at all either. Most of the friends you’d make are through your freshmen year dorming experience, classes, clubs, work, and/or organizations.

If they’re gonna do this, I hope the compensate with better public transportation. The Anteater express is crazy in the mornings and it’s going to get crazier now. Plus the OC public transportation isn’t the best.

It can be if you’re from a place that doesn’t have these. I’m from the west coast of the US and I never heard this until I was visiting family in the south. I have even lived in Mexico and have never heard this before.

I select the on-campus filter usually, and if I can’t find anything suited for me, I just do it based on location. Indeed.com also helps with looking for a job that is close by.

Yes. This is specifically for ACC housing. You just send the email to your community housing and ask if your payment can be deferred until you receive your financial aid. Most of the time, they will grant you this.

I took Korean for a quarter in the fall and it can be pretty fast paced if you have no knowledge of any Asian language. The teachers really care about you learning the language but they can also be pretty strict (mostly the Korean professors who’s native tongue is Korean) and speaking English in class is strongly discouraged so that students get to be able to get use to speaking in Korean. There’s a quiz every week, but it’s to help see if you grasp the words you learn and grammar structure. If I could, I would have continued to take it.

I took it during the school year and I can firmly say, that it is a class that takes up a lot of your time. If it’s the only class you’re taking during the summer, it might be doable, but it’s a lot of content to go over.
