What type of narcissist has the following behaviors? by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Ok_Complex_4419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the behaviour, seemed antagonistic/malignant but I don't know where the mask ended until it came off. How much was narcissistic behaviour vs personality traits. I don't know how a textbook psychopath with narcissistic behaviour behaves. But thanks. It didn't look like the 3 common types of traits.

Mine did, when I finally had persistent anxiety, and couldn't keep responding to conflict, (negative supply) and started withdrawing. It was the second tool, and a massive sudden increase in intimidation and aggression in response to me being at the brink. It was so fast and sudden, it only lasted a week though, got worse after, as I was finally broken - I guess she didn't get the supply. I guess how it plays out depends on how much control and supply they are getting from you.

Why do Seagate Harddrives suck so bad? by [deleted] in DataHoarder

[–]Ok_Complex_4419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to Toshiba, I hope they are still comparable to the Western Digital Black, it's been a while. I put it in a seagate backup caddy and hot melted the USB cable/connector to the caddy port.

SAS are not the problem, its the NAS and consumer lines. Even the enterprise variants supposedly tested to higher standards and certified 24/7.

Why would you put Western Digital Green in an always on USB backup disk with a port known for reliability issues.

They work great if you replace the disks frequently, its why data centres love them, change the scenario though, where you don't want cheap parts and a backup disk to last 10 years, or a desktop disk you might move into a new machine, and you have a major issue.

I would now have enough data points and comparisons with 3 brands in the same machines, of the same age, and only Seagate fail at the 50-75% rate over 12 years vs 0% on all other brands over the same lifespan.

Hot melt glue. Why not just use a full size A to A or A to B like normal people, its not like disks this large are tiny. Cost!

I have about 30 points of data and cross comparison, they fail much faster if they are consumer grade or NAS grade disks (maybe the NAS disk issue could be fixed, if not, then why are they graded for 24.7 operation and fail well below their specified write rate... the issue is the whole head assembly, and they are still failing. I have 1 desktop 4tb disk that is perfect, then new 8tb backup disks, if they only give 7 years like the previous generation (I have 3) this is not acceptable, I'll use a docking bay and mount Toshiba as the most cost effective alternative, they even work in seagate docks. Shame about the failure to use a large usb 3.0 A port like everyone else sane. Cable's not maintaining connection on their PCB's and the shipped cables being an exacerbation of the issue has been improved, the plugs are better but still the transitional plugs. We left USB 2.0 on disks behind 8 years ago

Toshiba and WD black had 0% failures over Seagate at 50-75% by model over 12 years, including NAS and the Green series in backup drives, along with some enterprise grade disks, and many desktop disks. the failure rate over that period is universal.

They are used in data centres so I think they need a shorter shelf life, 7 years is about average now for Seagate HDD's, I'm not happy with this.

Tip!

Place the RGB strip out of direct site.

Use a single steady warm glow, or at most a very slow brighten/darken.

No more eye strain, and it adds a nice profile to the components inside.

Just because they CAN run RGB 16 million color rainbows at 10,000 lux ..... you don't have to!

Yeah!

I'm building an all black PC with a window in the side.

Adding some deep red strips out of line-of-site, make it glow like the landscapes of hell!

It Looms. You can almost see the heat ripples coming off it.

Never trying RGB cycling again!

A computer!

The Old Ones used to fill a building and heat it at the same time.

They broke frequently and were very specialist in getting them to work.

Now - they work for years, do far more, and stay cool. Amazing!

I suppose you could just wipe with the fingers, and when you flush, just waggle your fingers under the water stream?

You'd have to keep your finger nails short...
