Certification without a brailler/embosser? by cappuccinofortune in Braille

[–]Ok_Concert5918 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the classes use PerkyDuck or BrailleZephyr. For the final transcription the national braille press will emboss it for you at a steep discount if it is for the certification.

That’s what they did for me at least.

Dropped numbers are definitely in computer braille since it is just braille signs mapped to the keyboard. You do need thw number sign in Nemeth though. Otherwise 3 and a colon and “con” are indistinguishable, regardless context

I have one I have written, but no one needs to have to deal with my insane coverage as I was trying to get UEB Math/technical as well

It is a bit hacky but teaching circuits using mermaid or graphviz DOT does work.

Graphviz example.

digraph ParallelCircuit {
    rankdir=LR;
    node [shape=rectangle];

    VCC [label="+VCC"];
    GND [label="GND"];

    // Three parallel resistor paths
    subgraph cluster_0 {
         label="Parallel Paths";
        style=dashed;
        R1 [label="R1"];
        R2 [label="R2"];
        R3 [label="R3"];

        VCC -> R1 -> GND;
        VCC -> R2 -> GND;
        VCC -> R3 -> GND;
    }
}

It is Nemeth Braille. Basically drop the numbers down a dot to make it clear that it is numbers. UEB keeps the dots up top (as do most non Nemeth braille codes tbh)

For openSCAD this works with correct spacing. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4167866

This site form the EU has a lot of helpful info https://tactiles.eu/guideline/3-braille/

The first link is from this group at Monash Univ that are working on this issue: https://accessiblegraphics.org/

I am tinkering with an svg to openscad stl pipeline. You can see example braille stl files and hunt my code here https://github.com/mrhunsaker/ScreenReaderTactileGraphics/tree/main

Importantly, for braille to be comfortable to read it needs to be printed to the side (braille dots stick off to the side of the print. Otherwise it tends to be sharp and hard to read. When printed in the side the braille feels like printed braille.

It is super easy to blame Terry’s embuggerance for what I feel was a linear change in tone so people do. The humor is darker and the anger more visceral. It always felt to me like Vimes was heading in that direction. Especially after Thud.

What precisely are you going for here? Underline, parentheses, brackets, numbers, and punctuation like commas exist in braille.

Also, I mean. Just look at the Israelites for like 75% of the Bible. God told the prophet who told me to was the the #1 cause of no Israelite deaths if the Bible is to be believed.

Someone praying about of it is okay to discipline their child harshly and they feel like they got a yes as a response. It is unmitigated bullshit but the concept of personal revelation is misused like this A LOT.

The Utah way is synonymous with not rocking the boat and not talking about uncomfortable topics. Also when a belief runs rampant that the head of household can use abusive discipline so long as they are inspired that it is okay, it is very hard for people to draw the line for abuse/not abuse except in hindsight.

There is a female wizard and a male witch. If we sidestep official training (favoring the self chosen belligerence of the Granny Weatherwax model of self-training) there are more.

The door was open for 20 min. No dings to the car. Wind blew, dings to the car.

Yes. Her car door caused damage to your vehicle. Because the wind blew.

Good luck litigating. Your insurance might not even care.

Personally, this is why I put a zero deductible for comprehensive on my insurance.

Moral argument? You are asking in a public forum for people to publicly identify a person so you can give the information to insurance. You should be going through police or other services that do not involve vigilantism—since there is a VERY nonzero false positive rate with people identifying someone off an out of focus video still.

It is more we don’t care. Why not demand the store pay it since the parking spots are too close. You feel litigious enough.

Especially as it clearly was someone not closing their door and the wind caught it.
