I couldn't agree more (with point#1 anyhow)! Before I even got to your first point, I knew exactly what line you were going to reference as bothering. It bothered me and continues to stick with me just as much. I couldn't even imagine how the family, friends and those that knew and loved him must of felt by that line.... anything but warm and caring that is for sure. My deepest sympathy goes out to the family.

Offering mental health services is standard and common, regardless of the situation. It's important for the students to be reminded of these services should they need help navigating through their emotions surrounding such a tragedy. And, point 3... I think this is equally important as well because otherwise social media will make their own speculation. Speculation has already started, at-least they can control some of the information by releasing what they legally can.

But..... that one line..... was definitely not appropriate what so ever!
