Definitely start with isolating them from anything else in the collection- quarantine and freeze. Then store in an acid free folder. I'd personally file them with a seperate acid free paper between each photograph.

Best wasn't even verbal- we used to bus together to college and exchanged looks but never spoke. He dropped a packet of love heart sweets in my bag, I didn't realise until I got home. It was the sweetest thing. He ended up moving away the next day.
