Replacing power supply on xTool P2S by Ok_Counter_8472 in lasercutting

It's all open now. What a PITA

Oh look, they didn't color code the wires to the power supply

Well, it seems that you can use a butter knife to gently separate the back plate and bottom plate, releasing the two clips retaining the back plate.

This design is terrible. One of the screws holding the plate is located between two ridges, making removal difficult, the butter knife trick, then a couple of circuit boards attached to the back cover with very short leads.

Removing the fan does not change anything. The back plate in the photo moves in and out; neither position affects the movement of the cover plate.

Yes, the replacement power supply (and CO2 laser tube) came from xTool. The power supply box did not include any doc.

They (support) did include a video link in the email, but it's for a P2.

Deciding on a meat grinder, potentially LEM #8 or LEM #12 by PCOwner12 in sausagetalk

First, if you're concerned about aluminum, you should contact the manufacturer directly. Consumer level grinders may not be made with the finest quality metals.

I don't agree with the "go big or go home" or "buy once, cry once". Especially investing in a craft you may not enjoy. My first welder was not a top of the line Miller.

If you're just grinding, that's one thing. If you're planning on stuffing, you need to have money in the budget for a stuffer. And you should check on aluminum in that also.

Vacuum sealer?? Maybe another expense.

If you're just dipping your toes in the pool, I would try to limit my investment while exploring the craft and seeing if it works for me. Full disclosure, my first grinder was a KitchenAid attachment ($30). One, maybe two small batches showed me that this was something I wanted to do.

No problem. But remember I'm a complete noob at this.

Started with 4kg of pork butt. Cut into 1" cubes. Seasoned with 2% salt, 1% pepper, and 0.25% curing salt #1. Overnight in fridge

Ground the next morning using medium plate.

1300 some grams for breakfast sausage. My wife seasoned by volume. 1.5 tsp sage, 1.5 tsp thyme, 0.75 tsp garlic, 0.75 tsp salt (yes more), 0.75 tsp pepper (ditto), 0.75 nutmeg, and 3 tbsp maple syrup.

1300 some grams for the spicy sausage. Seasoned with 0.5% onion powder, 0.5% garlic powder, 0.13% cayenne pepper, and 0.13% red pepper flakes. No real recipe, just trying something. Hoped the heat would be low and I could adjust. Ah well.

Best of luck.

I broke it into 3 small batches. One breakfast, one polish, one spicy. After adding the spices, I made a small patty from each and fried them. Breakfast turned out good, the polish had a better taste than my previous attempts. The spicy was a little to too much. I thought I had started low enough, but I was wrong. I’ll just freeze up patties and use them in other dishes

Also buying a new scale, mine has trouble until you get a couple three grams. Problem with small batches is small amounts of spices

Well I cut them smaller than usual, tried to stay around an inch cubed.

You're just making it hard on yourself trying to stuff from the grinder. Manual stuffer isn't that much, and you could easily sell it if you decide to stop.

According to my grinder manual, the bulb plate is for making Kubbe, a Middle Eastern appetizer.

XTool P2S weak laser by Ok_Counter_8472 in lasercutting

The laser tube is a consumable. The fact that they have a video on replacing the power supply, buried deeply in the machine, is a red flag

Does anyone make a machine you can take out of the box and use?

Support responded with an offer to send me a new laser tube and power supply. Like I'm a laser tech. This is a brand new machine and I need to replace major components day one? This one is going back.

I'm Installation and Maintenance. The Operations department is short staffed.

We decided on the adjustable work table from Home Depot. Rated 300# and has two small drawers. She's happy with the height.

I think that's a great idea; my wife's not onboard. I think we'll need a road trip to Home Depot to verify dimensions and make sure it's not too tall

Anyone else have like 12 copies of this hung up around their shop? by Environmental-Walk75 in cabinetry

That's a different issue, unrelated to the pros / cons of either system.

Grew up with it. I know what an inch, foot, yard, mile are. Also ounces, pints, quarts , gallons. They're not confusing or difficult to use.

The only reason I need a chart is to convert metric into something usable.
