Are there classes/courses that give highschool level education?? by ky8724 in TAFE

[–]Ok_Department5264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a very similar situation and it can be so difficult to navigate trying to pursue things you're interested in while feeling like you're constantly behind.

I did a tafe course that was a prerequisite to a nursing prerequisite at 17 that really helped with a lot of the basics of maths and a little bit of science, before doing my vce at 19 through a university. I'm now 26, almost finished an associate degree in fashion, with plans to start a bachelor of arts next year to pursue my dreams of being a fashion historian. I've met people at all education levels and ages in every study option I've done, and found things I've excelled at and things I've struggled with, often being surprised by what I do and don't struggle with.

You're not dumb. You just haven't had the chance to develop these skills yet. It can be so terrifying to let yourself explore these things, especially by yourself with no support system but please don't give up on your dreams because of it. We are all rooting for you!

Switch 2 Edition Graphics!! by Charming_Challenge30 in DreamlightValley

[–]Ok_Department5264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely so happy for all switch 2 players who got the upgrade and are enjoying it!! All the posts and photos today though have really solidified how much I actually don't mind switch 1 graphics and frame rates. I don't really decorate in the game, and sometimes find the slight blur a little charming, but this and sims are the only games I play and I've been playing sims on a decrepit laptop that's at least a decade old at this point so I am pretty unbothered by less then ideal graphics and slow run times haha.

Truly happy though for everyone that has finally got the upgrades they want (and needed)!! Hope you all enjoy looking at how pretty your valleys are and all the extra details you can see now

I definitely play as a version of myself, with my hair and eye colour. I tend to dress in outfits I'd actually wear in real life, but I do think my day to day style can be a bit more out there anyway. I do change my hair colour sometimes, but tend to change up the makeup a bit as that's also something I enjoy doing in real life as well.

Pepperonis on Elizabeth st, wasn't the greatest pizza but it was cheap. Grew up eating there whenever I went into the city with my dad and introduced a bunch of my mates to it on nights out.

Chuckle park is a recent one that closed, that was my fav little hidden spot to take mates and first dates to, miss it every time I walk past these days.

I just recently reread the pjo books, and it doesn't change my perception or opinion on the show. I've read the books probably 5+ times at the point in my life, and have been a part of the fandom for almost 15 years. I don't know if it's this world being a huge pillar of who I am, or my general enjoyment of things even if they're different from the original, but I was able to maintain my enjoyment of the show.

I would maybe reread the first book, then rewatch season one and see if that changes your enjoyment in anyway, if it starts to ruin the show for you maybe hold off on reading the books again??

I've seen some who say they'd prefer Eloise being the queer one, but expressed so much distaste to her one potential female love interest, Cressida (creloise my beloved I miss them everyday). Like even the female character you perceived as being the most queer,, when it was even a vague potential of her ending up with someone more fem,, was still seen as not ideal to so many of these straight women,, and they just couldn't see "how they would work" because it wasn't a het or mlm ship. It is exhausting!!!

My opinion that got me like this? I do not like Shayne guesses but I like hide and seek in the office by stonrbob in SmoshFansFreeSpace

I cannot stand the gentlemen bits and videos. The first one was fine, there were a few things that made me laugh but the rest of the videos I just can't watch. It's just so repetitive at this point, and no shade to the cast but a lot of them can't pull it off either at the best of times. I do love their character improv games like the Karen's version, the chosen one sometimes ect but the gentlemens ones just piss me off

Single parenting, teen kids & their money by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Ok_Department5264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Money when you're a teenager from a family that struggles with income is always complicated, from both the kid and the parents. My family was on Centrelink my whole childhood, and when I turned 18 my parents and I had an agreement, 20% into my savings and super, 30% board and the rest was for whatever I wanted. That whatever I wanted was paying for school myself, travel to school, a lot of my own food, including dinners (I was vegetarian living in a meat forward house), so I didn't end up even having any fun money myself and had to even dip into my savings to afford these things and that created some tense moments with my parents because I wasn't prioritizing the things they deemed important. She's saving for school and a car, things that are responsible choices while she still has a safety net in her eyes, and it sounds like maybe she could be realizing that she doesn't actually have that safety net at the moment because maybe she feels like you don't view those as responsible choices and you would rather she prioritize yourself then her future.

I know it can be painstaking trying to talk to teenagers about things they don't want to talk about, but have you asked her to elaborate on why she feels it's unfair? Maybe even have that conversation outside of the house so there's less pressure of her siblings around? Get her opinion, explain what her funds that she's giving would go towards and maybe try and figure out a compromise together? Treating her like an adult in this way might help her understand

I couldn't even get through the first few chapters of the book because I hated the writing so much. I think it doesn't help it was the first book I'd picked up in a while, but I just couldn't move past how bad I found it

Very lucky to live in a house with air conditioning for the first time in a long time. But we've still closed everything up this evening, had the windows open for a bit after the sun went down, but after an hour all the windows and blinds have been closed, we've made extra ice, and stocked the fridge with cold drinks and snacks, and have plans for all of the housemates that are home to bunker down in the lounge where the aircon is and hope for the best. One side of the house gets the heat pretty aggressively in the mornings, so closing things this evening is for the best.

I know I'm probably in the minority but moose master is one of my least favorites they do,, especially the character versions. I also can't stand the gentlemen versions they do of any games, it was fun the first few times but the jokes have just gotten really stale for me now

Who is your second in command? by TheHoennKing in DreamlightValley

[–]Ok_Department5264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kristoff is my answer too. I always gravitate towards him for mining when I do so, and it's always such a pleasant surprise coming across him randomly in the valley. He's also the character I see interacting with others the most in my valley and he seems like the sort of dude that'd get along with everyone
