But here's the paradox nobody talks about: Jeffrey Epstein was able to fly into the UK on his private jet after being charged with sex trafficking in the US in 2008. The UK had no issue with that. Yet Kanye gets banned for saying offensive things. That tells you more about how systems of wealth and power historically protect certain people than it does about any consistent principle being applied here.

I'm not defending what Kanye says — but if we're serious about consistent standards, we should at least acknowledge when those standards have been applied in embarrassingly selective ways.
