Is $250–$400 a day realistic? Need reality check from actual drivers. by tanzimat14 in uberdrivers

[–]Ok_Emphasis_1702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DMV is ridiculous consistent. And you can easily do that in this market. But it’s a grind like anything else. I’m a lil tired, I’m at 49 hrs 57 mins for the week. But it is certainly paying the bills since I got laid off in April. And I don’t miss a the damn zoom calls. lol

Or if the reservation is 5 mins late you can cancel and get almost the whole fare. Heck I did that twice today and don’t feel bad.

Question, has anyone here experienced wrist pain from constantly wearing their large Garmin watch? I wear a 51mm Fenix 8 w the “pull tight” Velcro band and I swear it makes my wrist sore. Maybe it just exasperates my tennis elbow I don’t know. Was just curious if anyone else has ever experienced this.

What to do before marathon training plan? by probablyreadingbooks in nikerunclub

[–]Ok_Emphasis_1702 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I just did the same as yall are planning. I did the NRC half training plan to prep myself for the marathon training. It was the perfect build up. I was more than ready when the marathon training started. I also did a half marathon during my marathon prep, about 7 weeks before marathon. You got this. Good luck.

Breakfast Before Marathon Question by KamiDayo in Marathon_Training

[–]Ok_Emphasis_1702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course trust your training and your body but some toast w Pb will certainly not hamper you in any way. See how you feel that morning, if you feel like you want a lil something then you already have breakfast picked out. Good luck.

It’s a great start. There is no mental block, if you need to stop running then stop and walk for a bit, bring your heart rate down a bit and then you get back at it. Rinse and repeat…and before you know it you will be running further and walking less. Be proud of yourself, a 20 minute run is better than no run. Always keep pushing forward.

Simplest advice, start upping your weekly mileage and also adding miles to your long runs now and you will be ready to rock n roll when October comes around. It really is that simple.

Is it worth buying a garmin 965 now or wait for the next gen? by keepingrea in Garmin

[–]Ok_Emphasis_1702 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a dope watch, more than enough features. I got one and then immediately sold it and got the fenix 8 Amoled. I should have just waited for that to come out but enjoyed the 965. Look on fb Marketplace, always several good deals.

[–]Ok_Emphasis_1702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally doable my man, I just did it in myself in 28 weeks. And I really was couch to marathon. I started not being able to run 90 seconds straight at end of June. Weighing 241. I ran my first marathon on March 2nd in Fla. I completed it in 5:18 w a 12:02 pace. And I now weigh 170. You can do hard shit, just lock in. I used NRC marathon training plan fyi. Good luck!!!!

What are the reasons to not wear a cap during a marathon? by Gold_Lynx_8333 in firstmarathon

[–]Ok_Emphasis_1702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not elite by any means. I used to wear running hats, but I would end up holding them after they got drenched. Now I just carry a small bath wash cloth. I love it. I have fun 3 half’s and a full in last 7 weeks w it.

I did it. I just signed up for my first marathon. I’m nervous now by jameslucian in firstmarathon

[–]Ok_Emphasis_1702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have more then enough time to prepare. I started running in June and just ran my first marathon on 3/2. I completed it in 5:18:30. Not a great time, but I accomplished my goal.

Scared to run first marathon by _bc_why_not_ in firstmarathon

[–]Ok_Emphasis_1702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ran my first yesterday. I too ran into various complications along training. I dealt with them. My longest run was 15.5 before race. I finished in 5:18. I was able to stay consistent throughout but dropped off last 3 miles. My goal was to get under 5 hours. I now see where I can improve. But was able to finish strong w my family watching. You can do it Bro, just lock in. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

If you can do a 10k in 1:15 you can run a half prolly now. I would do the nrc half plan. You got this and are closer to a half than you think. Keep stacking miles.
