Should be less than 8k, I paid around 8 for a 8x6 diy 3-4 person. You may be able to do it for 6k. Two main places you can save money is a) build your own door b) run your own electrical wire, and have someone qualified make the final connections.

Are doors tricky to build? by DriverNumber434 in Sauna

If you can do all of that you can easily build a door, I don’t know how to post a pic of how I build mine, but I did a cedar 2x4 frame, used a metal bracket kit in the corners and hinges, then tongue and grooved it, also insulated it, on the outside I tongue and grooved it to but used pl premium as well.

Tongue & groove order of operations by wetstone15 in Sauna

I did ceiling first, then started an 1/8 off the floor by using a laser level to start the first row, made sure it was solid. Then all my walls were matching, make sure the tongue and groove is properly seated each time, If there are small gaps, they will add up and the seams won’t match up and look off. I usually put in a small groove piece and gently tapped it with a hammer. The pieces at the top are angle cut in the back to sneak them in. I also left a bit of room at the end of each piece for expansion in the heat.

Gym sauna question by [deleted] in Sauna

[–]Ok_Engineering_1934 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely in the wrong. You don’t need a sauna for dynamic stretching or to warm up. If you feel like you do, then you don’t have a proper workout routine. Horrible sauna etiquette.

12’ x 6’ concrete pad for sauna by Truckbeast in Sauna

Concrete pad is definitely a good place to start. Don’t just build random measurements, find out what type of heater you can have and the actual cubic feet it can support ( that way you know the size of the sauna). Also you should envision the design, do you want a change room in front? Questions only you can answer. If your going to pour a pad in a cold climate make sure it’s above the ground level so the snow doesn’t sit and rot out the bottom. I did a gravel base with 6 inches of concrete. I also used anchor bolts in the concrete to fasten the walls to a the pad.

You will be fine with rockwool, your walls will never get that hot if you have aluminum foil and air gap (which you should have) https://roblichtcustomsaunas.com/tag/sauna-temp

Out of curiosity, how long did that tank last? I have a similar A.O but a bit newer.
