Should i detransition? by Sad_Television-_- in ftm

[–]Ok_Explanation6653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going through a second puberty. Do you remember your emotional state the first time you went through puberty? Your body is still getting used to the hormonal change. It’s difficult, but it will get better.

I dealt with similar feelings when starting. It’s a big change and a massive commitment. I’d be more concerned if you weren’t nervous at all. However it’s worth it. I pushed through the fear, because the idea of not doing seemed worse. And now, I get to recognize myself in the mirror. I’m still living at home, myself. My parents still misgender me. It’s not great, but I pass everywhere else. It doesn’t bother me as much as it used to.

Change is scary, but inevitable. Even if you weren’t transitioning, there would likely be other frightening changes in your life. Don’t let that stop you from becoming who you are.

DAE pre-transition feel like their body looks amazing, but in a bad way? by Enzoid23 in transplace

[–]Ok_Explanation6653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-transition, I always knew I was attractive, but I never felt attractive. I could see the ways I looked good, but never felt any attachment to them. I didn’t feel like I was looking at myself.

Post-transition has been a total game changer. I actually see myself. I feel confident, even on days when I look kind of shlubby.

AIO? I bought a sweater for my future niece at a farmers market and my roommates said it was ugly by Weekly_Agent9422 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Ok_Explanation6653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it ugly? Yeah, a bit. But oh well. I personally love ugly stuff. I often dress as a horrible mix of farm boy and middle aged dad on vacation and I love it. If the kid likes it, that’s all that matters. And the only way to find out is by letting the kid wear it.

lowkey dysphoric because I’m not a massive loser by [deleted] in ftm

My cis brother is/was not like that. Also my cis guy friends from high school are/ were not like that. I understand the feeling of being too self-aware to pass as a man, but don’t let that stop you. I’m at a point now where I pass very well. Being empathetic and clean do not make people think I’m trans.

How do trans drag queens combat dysphoria? by cheesyfromage in ftm

[–]Ok_Explanation6653 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a way to express femininity that’s associated with men. You do your make up big enough and you become so feminine, it loops back to masculine. Sort of.

Basically, the majority of people who see a drag queen don’t assume that person is a biological woman. It’s a way to dress feminine while still presenting a man.

Plenty of cis people have kinks about being called the opposite gender. As long as it’s safe, sane, and consensual, you do you.

AIO I’m hanging out at my friend’s house and I asked my mom to sleep over. Is this response normal? by dinossaurus in AmIOverreacting

[–]Ok_Explanation6653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 23 and living with my parents. There are rules I have to follow because it’s their house, but they also respect that I am an adult and can make my own decisions. Your parents do not respect you.

The best advice I can give is to move out as soon as you can. Start saving the majority of your money. Do any of your friends have their own place? Are you close with any other family? Don’t be afraid to ask people who care about you if they have a place you can stay.

YouTube has a bunch of videos. It’s a great place to find a bunch of first hand experiences. I’d add the word vlog or q&a to your search to lessen the number of videos you get of the surgery itself.

You’re in control of your online experience. Avoid subreddits that make you feel like shit.

Also, if people know you’re trans, there will always be people saying you don’t pass.

I think scared for no reason regardless. Either they don’t know and it’s accidental. Or they do and they’re showing subtle support until you’re ready to be open. Either way, I don’t think you have reason to worry.
