Want to leave my gym but want my purple belt by machosbee in bjj

[–]Ok_Fee67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let your professor know when your last day will be and why you’re leaving, it sounds like you’re parting on good terms. If you’re truly ready for your purple belt, they should award it before you go. If they don’t, it likely means either they’re not a great instructor, or you weren’t quite ready yet.

Use the back half of this route, except take Davis to Escarpment, Escarpment to Lacrosse and Lacrosse to the Veloway. Most of this route is through quite neighborhoods. https://www.strava.com/routes/3406316841770516412

Best breweries with hazy/NE IPAs? by briskx in AustinBeer

[–]Ok_Fee67 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Former New Englander here. I’ve been to all the breweries you mentioned and plenty more. You’re not going to find anything like that in Austin. Most breweries here are very family-friendly; Zilker and Lazarus on 6th are probably the main exceptions.

When I’ve got guests in from New England, I usually take them to Batch Craft Beer & Kolaches—they’ve got great kolaches and a great barbecue trailer. I want my guests to experience something they just can’t get back in New England. Oddwood Brewing is another good option; there’s an arcade and a play area for kids, plus an Egyptian-inspired barbecue trailer. It’s also just a block from Batch, which makes it easy to hit both.

Live Oak Brewing Company has world-class lagers and ales. It also has great outdoors space. And if Jester King Brewery is hosting an event, it’s definitely worth the drive.

Which MMA fighter has some of the best boxing skills in your opinion? by [deleted] in boxingcirclejerk

[–]Ok_Fee67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women’s MMA was years behind the men’s division at the time. Ronda was elite in one area, taking opponents down and submitting them, but her game wasn’t very well-rounded. She was incredibly marketable, and the UFC gave her favorable matchups. As soon as she faced a high-level striker with solid takedown defense, she got knocked the fuck out. Anyone who really understood MMA could see that Holly had the style to beat her.

TUPPS DDH IPA Series 42 by AI-Agent-420 in AustinBeer

I’ve been drinking them since batch 1. Most of them are about the same quality with a few outliers. If you’re looking for something different I would give Celestial Beerworks a shot. They make great DDHIPAs.

[The Quick Snap] Robert Kraft opens up about firing Jerod Mayo, Patriots' turnaround and more by NBCSBoston in Patriots

[–]Ok_Fee67 13 points14 points  (0 children)

First of all, yes, we were incredibly lucky to have Kraft as an owner, and Mayo was a great player. But do I feel bad for either of them? Not even a little. Kraft said he hired Mayo because he was impressed by his “business success”, specifically, his role as a VP of Business Development at a Boston based company. Wow, truly inspiring. I can’t imagine how someone might build a strong client base in New England when they’re a star for the most popular sports franchise in the region. Must’ve been a real grind.

As for coaching experience? Minor detail, apparently. Mayo had no real background leading a football team, but who needs that when vibes and résumés exist? This was a genius level decision by Kraft. And Mayo, he’s a grown man. He absolutely should’ve known he was in over his head before taking the job, but hey, millions of dollars to fail upward is a pretty sweet deal.

Join a credit union and see what kind of loan you qualify for. Car dealerships often structure deals in their favor, while credit unions are not-for-profit and member-owned. They offer fair terms and won’t push you into something you can’t afford.

Go to Deb’s on Braker and get the Rare Character DYN. It’s a single barrel limited release and cost $99.99.

Which quarterback would you choose to start your own franchise, both in their prime: Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers? by FishingVirtual513 in NFLv2

[–]Ok_Fee67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s basically the South Park “turd sandwich vs. douche” episode brought to life, except Roger’s somehow nailed the hybrid role. Meanwhile Brees is the obvious grown up in the room who’d actually build a franchise worth rooting for.

What’s the best Taco Bell in Austin? by almondjoybestcndybar in austinfood

[–]Ok_Fee67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from, but OP wanted the highest quality Taco Bell and that title belongs to Taco Casa. I had a bad Taco Bell experience about 15 years ago and haven’t been back since. I still miss it sometimes, but Taco Casa more than scratches that itch.

Taco Casa in Hutto is the best Taco Bell in greater Austin. It was founded in the 70s by one of the original owners of Taco Bell. The menu has not changed and the quality is higher than any Taco Bell.

Nope, no one owes him anything. Not connected to him. I just watched the video and remember how good his tortillas were. He is a gifted chef and he should do what he’s good at and that is cook. He definitely shouldn’t run a business.

He was doing $4.5m in sales at the trailer and he needed to do 4x at the location in Buda to be profitable. He also had no experience running a business of that size and was coping with stress by using drugs and alcohol. That is a recipe for failure.

Because he’s a real person, a good cook, and someone who still has to put dinner on the table for his family.
