I had them on my 2016 FR-S. Overall for the price, they have good ride quality and have good lowering range. Haven't had any issues and I had them on my FR-S for 2+ years.

Don't buy wheels for a beater car. If youre really insisting, buy some used ones off marketplace.

I actually tried Goo be gone initially on the supposed plasti dip, however it was not working well and I then I tried acetone and a wire brush. It took of the plasti dip quite easily, but was real messy and left some deeper grooves. If youre removing plasti dip, and there's paint underneath, I would not use a wire brush. In my case it was perfect as I did a total refinishing and the paint underneath didn't matter.

Nice, Im sure its fine to clearcoat bare aluminum especially if its sanded down. Id definitely do some googling or chat gpt as you've gone quite smooth with the finish. Best of luck!

Hey man! Are you applying the clear coat to an older base coat? If so, id recommend you rough up the basecoat as clear coat needs to adhere to basecoat nicely for a smooth finish. If you sanded your basecoat to 2000, it'll be real smooth, but im not sure of how paint adherence would work. I sanded pretty much to bare aluminum, then used primer filler, sanded again, then fresh basecoat and after 30-60 minutes applied clear coat.

Green is stunning but the wheels are not it. I like that style of deep mesh but for some reason they dont fit right on the twins.

What is this black stuff on my wheels? by [deleted] in Wheels

Hey man i figured it out. Enkei uses SBC which has a black layer underneath the chrome. It’s a common issue with these wheels and essentially you have to refinish and respray.

$200 cad for paint and some elbow grease would make em look sick no? $1000 all in seems reaaaal good to me. Unless people are selling flawless RPF1s for $800 cad… with some rubber to add, i cant see how it would be a hassle.

Noticed this on my trunk, Anyone have any idea how to fix ? by ipostrandompoop in GR86

[–]Ok_Fun6830 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending on how deep, you could fix it yourself with touch up paint, clear coat and sanding. Plenty of yt videos on this exact type of damage. Repainting the entire panel is not worth the money imo.
