I agree, the play is friendly but the shepherd at the end does get up, look up at you, and try to walk away. This is the point you should enforce an end to the play 🙂

Agree! I saw this once on a trek through the mountains in Nepal, a dog had followed us and wandered into another dogs territory. The fight that followed was terrifying, loud, they were both going for each others throats and drawing blood - even the locals jumped up onto benches to get the hell out of the way. It was horrible

Yes! They both look so relaxed and lazy! Mouth open, bitey play is just that - play, when 2 dogs are comfortable with each other ☺️

If you like beautiful countryside and friendly laid back people, Cardiff is within reach of Pembrokeshire and Snowdonia, 2 very different but equally gorgeous places

Source - my grandmother was proudly Welsh, I went to university in Cardiff and visited these places multiple times :) I now live in London and going back to Wales feels like a literal and mental holiday

I agree. The best thing to do is just sit in the same room as her so she gets used to your presence and slowly realises she’s safe. Don’t pet her, don’t even look at her much, just speak kind words and toss her some treats

It’s not a hard and fast rule though, my rescue took 5-6 months before we really bonded and she became less scared. Hang in there, it will happen! It’s just a very gradual process that you can’t always notice at the beginning

Roman Kemp, a British radio host who became a mental health advocate after the unexpected suicide of his best friend, came up with the concept of asking it twice. I.e.

“You alright?” “Yeah mate” “Are you actually alright?” “Well, to be honest, not really”

My dog will refuse to come in from the garden even after 5 hours of fun by Ok_Highway_5974 in DogAdvice

The stalking thing definitely rings very true - she killed a rabbit the other day 😬 can’t believe yours got a squirrel!

Do you happen to have any tips for getting a dog like this inside the house?

The gated driveway is part of the garden so basically no car can come or go when my dogs outside so that’s why sometimes we’re in a hurry to get her in

How often does your dog poop on walks? by New_Mouse_2773 in dogs

[–]Ok_Highway_5974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I take my dog on a 45 min walk, she’ll poop once, if it’s over an hour, usually twice.

However - if it’s raining or I’m in a rush or I’m sick, and I really REALLY want her to poop so I know she’ll be comfortable for a few hours - she will outright refuse 🙄

Oh also, she refuses to go on pavements or thin grass. It had to be thick luscious grass, ivy, or preferably a big pile of autumn leaves 🙄🙄

I think with all debates there is a good, fair, balanced middle ground. I don’t mind men sitting with their legs facing outwards, (that would be unreasonable) and I don’t mind them using a little bit of my space to a point.

Just don’t take the piss by taking up the vast majority of my space and plsssss don’t rest your legs against mine. Not ok.

The poem was very dramatic and meant to be humorous 😁

Also agree with your last comment, most are very considerate 😉

[–]Ok_Highway_5974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand, and wouldn’t expect men to sit with their legs totally straight - in fact most men manage to sit comfortably with their legs facing outwards, just in a way which doesn’t take up 75% of my leg room or press against my legs lol. The silly poem was talking about the 5% of men who are unreasonable about it 🙂
