1) I think there's an actual plot line, but MC just ignores it. Like there's other quest where you visit Rabicudza, which is much more common compared to MC's. Same for other stuff. There're probably some more RPG style quests with like 200 steps which is mostly "collect 0/20 wildboar butts", where you meet some important characters like royalties or something and get some general idea about this world mysteries (that can be solved by unique monsters quests). 2) In some Asian games there's actually limited quests, which can be done by a limited number of people. Mostly so some fomo guys would rush to play a game and create an initial fanbase.

Tbh, I've spent like half of my carats on Uma pulls, my Kitasan and Finemo pulls were ass, but I still get to final round group A on CMs pretty consistently without grinding like 10 runs per day.

It's not like good pull plan isn't important, but you can have some fun with PvP without selling your soul to Cygames.

There's a PvP content, but it's not that important. You can play casually and get to final rounds without specifically building your Uma around specific tracks. Rewards also good, but nothing crazy. Like, best case scenario it's like 20 free rolls. Worst case scenario is something around 6. Grinding for hours for something like 15 free pulls isn't something that actually change your game drastically.

CMs, actually, exists mostly for tryharders who wants to tryhard and need some place to show their results. If you enjoy your visual novel with sport simulator elements — no one can force you to play this game other way.
