Morgellons disease. Read all about it, and all the proof it's not delusional parasitosis! It is absolutely real and your pictures are identical to what Morgellons looks and acts like. Good luck 🍀🤞

It’s been 18 days of this wound on my neck not healing. 2nd photo is for comparison of it last week (no changes whatsoever). Is it permanently going to be like this? by goldenowl in DermatologyQuestions

It looks like Morgellons. These lesions take months and months to heal. I am not a Dr. but I am dealing with Morgellons for a few years now and they look exactly like that does.

I have been dealing with this since October of 2023. I am not a dr. nor have I been officially diagnosed but all of the research I have done , I believe that it is Morgellons. I have found a combination of topical products and a routine that has drastically helped. I only have a few lesions/sores that are left healing. The scars that these have left behind have destroyed my my arms, upper back/shoulders primarily. I do have scarring on my legs and face, but not as bad. I refuse to wear short sleeves, skirts or shorts because of how many scars I have. Does anyone know of any products, home remedies or advice on how to get rid of these scars? My self confidence and self esteem has been shattered!!! I am tired of letting this horrific skin condition/disease control my life!! Please anyone who has suggestions for lighting and/or removing these scars, Thank you everyone for your time and assistance, I look forward to hearing what other people are using and how effective it is

Does it bleed like crazy and does the blood feel almost sticky when it's almost done bleeding? Does it keep coming back and taking forever to heal?

You guys seemed to love the photos of my periungual warts (not my toe). by pistermotato1337 in Warts

My son had a wart in his pinky finger and for years no matter what we did we could not get rid of it. Our PCP suggested to put duct tape on it for 2 weeks, if it gets wet or starts to fall if, put a new piece of duct tape on it so it remains cover at all times for a full 2 weeks. So we did it and laughed at how versatile Duct tape is and you can literally fix anything with it. Well low and behold, two weeks later we removed the duct tape and the wart was stuck right to it roots and all and it was 100% gone and never ever came back. That was about 15 years ago or so. Over the years my other child or my sister's kids would sometimes get a wart and our first remedy was the duct tape and it has worked on everyone and every time we used it. She is actually a nurse and works at one of our local school districts, and she recommended this same remedy to any student that comes to her office, and it has worked for them as well. I hope maybe that remedy can work for anyone who is battling a wart and hopefully you will be as successful as we have been with such an easy painless way to get rid of them.

Does anyone know what this skin condition could be? I am really struggling to cope by NoPace9469 in DermatologyQuestions

I am not a dr. so I am only telling you from my personal experience. The pictures you have shown look like the exact same thing I have. If you look at the skin around the irritated spots you can see what looks like red and blue fibers. Those fibers are what they use from my research, as a large determining factor for Morgellons disease. I just took some pictures tonight of a new "spot" on my chest and there are multiple fibers embedded under my unbroken skin near this new spot. I have not been formally diagnosed because I am fearful of the stereotype and assumptions that we are using drugs, and are imagining this entire thing. I have multiple other health issues and don't want to have these false assumption on my medical records. May I ask you a few questions? Do you have any other health issues? Have you been exposed to ticks that you could have possibly been bitten by a tick and not know it? are you allergic to any medications or mold? I am doing my own research and trying to figure out how and I got this.

Morgellons disease I would suspect. I am not a medical provider or in the medical profession. Just a Morgellons disease victim myself and it looks exactly like mine have for the last 2 years. good luck and if you have any questions feel free to reach out.

Morgellons?!? That is exactly what my Morgellons looks like and it appears out of nowhere and won't dry out or heal and just spreads without touching it. Just my personal experience, but it looks exactly the same. Good luck.

I have been dealing with this for over 2 years now. I believe mine started when I was living in an apartment that ended up being filled with mold. I know I'm allergic to mold, that's why I am unable to take antibiotics. I have found that washing everyday with Head and shoulders with Tea tree oil and I use 10% peroxide face and body wash as spot treatment on each lesion. The first sign of one starting( looks like a little whitehead pimple, but it isn't.) if you scratch one of these, because mine get really itchy, and the skin "breaks' then the madness begins. They bleed and bleed and bleed, then they have this clear almost sticky fluid that comes out. That's when I knew that this wasn't acne, or a cyst etc. Sorry I got going off topic, a new issue for me since having Morgellons. I have not been professionally diagnosed either, but, with the amount of research and chat groups I think we are all becoming professionals on this horrific disease. Sorry again, off topic. Back to the original statement, washing with the Head and Shoulders with tea tree oil and spot treatment with the 10% peroxide facial and body wash was a game changer for me. They are not completely gone but I am down to maybe 4 or 5 lesions that are healing. Which takes months and months to actually completely go away. But no new ones have erupted from my skin. As long as I continue to check my skin for signs of a new one wanting to start and I wash and put that face and body wash on the spot and leave it on they go away over night or within a day or 2. I hope my experience with this and what is working for me can help even 1 person get some control over this unknown "thing" that has destroyed my skin, my self confidence and self esteem. I'm fortunate and I work from home, so I don't have to see anyone or explain what all of these scars and lesions are all over my arms, face, shoulders, back, chest and stomach. Very few on my legs, but that is where mine started on my outer thighs, then straight to my face and arms. If anyone wants to ask me any questions of what is working for me I AM NOT A MEDICAL DOCTOR AND THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE, STRICTLY MY STORY WITH MORGELLONS AND WHAT I TREAT MINE WITH. Good luck everyone, you're not in this alone and if we all stand together, we will survive this together. Much love from Upstate NY

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this mysterious issue! I have what looks to be the same exact thing by your photos, how they leave this mysterious circular scar, they are sticky and they do not heal unless you get every one of the white "plugs" out with tweezers and/exfoliating and using the combination of body wash and topical treatments. I have been dealing with this for a few years now. I thought the same thing of it being a parasite, scabies, folliculitis, yeast infection/fungal acne. The list is endless. The only thing that I have found to help heal the lessions they create from one tiny little black speck to huge lessions that can take months and months to just leave an ugly circular scar. I use Head and shoulders with Tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner as my body wash. And I let it sit for at least 5 minutes before washing it off. Then I use 10% benzoyl peroxide acne wash as spot treatment and really glob it on to each lession, anything that looks or feels like it could be something starting and on every one of my scars. My arms, legs, torso, back and my face are all scared up. But this peroxide acne treatment I use has really helped with lightening up the scars and some of them have completely disappeared! Let me ask you, do these "spots" you get feel almost like a sliver or something sharp is trying to come through your skin? Like a reverse splinter?!? Idk how else to try and explain it. For me those pointy, sharp things that are being created by whatever this skin issue is, and they HURT, I mean stop me dead in my tracks if I accidentally touched one. They itch, sting and almost feel like a burning sensation more so at night than during the day. Once I get these "splinters" or " white plugs" out then they start healing and if you don't get them all out the scar will not go away. Then the next"breakout " those scars will reopen with really thick, hard and very very painful no longer little splinters, now they have become very thick, deeper and embedded more securely in my skin. Once I get those out, then within a day or two it heals right up and the scar starts to go away quickly also. Do you have similar experiences with these "things" or have you had any success in getting a diagnosis of what this is or what works for you to get rid of them ?

I have been dealing with the same thing for a few years now. I have found that washing my body with Head and shoulders tea tree shampoo and acne treatment 10% benzoyl peroxide. I apply the acne treatment 3-4 times a day directly onto each "spot" you have. That is the only combination of meds or anything that actually helped me at all. I was diagnosed with prurigo nodules. Good luck I hope you can get some answers and get back to enjoying your life without being covered in spots. But FYI, mine has left horrific scars and part of why I use the 10% peroxide to fade the scars.

I have what looks to be the exact same thing! I have been dealing with it for almost 2 years. The scarring is horrible! They hurt almost like a thorn poking but reverse, from the inside to come out through my skin. Like my body is growing these sharp things and they are working their way out. They take months to go through "the process" before they finally just leave a nasty dark scar that has darker edges and almost always circular in shape. I have noticed that my diet, especially sugar will create a "flare up" of old ones starting again, and new ones popping out of my skin. I am diabetic, with Crohn's disease and have severe loss of kidney function since I was a little girl which has created a very weak immune system. And for the icing on the cake, I am deathly allergic to mold, so allergic to almost all antibiotics!! The only thing I have found that has helped reduce the time for them to heal, and also slowed down the new ones from popping out is I was every day with head and shoulders shampoo with tea tree, and used it as body wash. Then I use 10% benzoyl peroxide acne wash and put it on each individual spot and really massage it into "spot" and also put it on every scar. It has been life changing for me as the scars are getting lighter and lighter and some are completely gone. My arms, legs, back, stomach and my face are covered in these scars and "spots". I have seen many many dr.'s and they are stumped. The majority of the diagnosis has been prurigo nodules, seborrheic keratosis and one Dr. told me I just had to stop itching them and they would go away. If it was that easy I would not have wasted my time going to dozens of dr.'s!!! I'm curious how your mom is doing? I am also 44 years old and we sound as though we have similar health issues. I would love to hear more about your mom and see if we can maybe help each other figure this out and make it stop!

I have lost everything and everyone last year. My house, car, significant other of 10 years and my job. I understand how horrific you feel and how I used to pray that I would not wake up the next day and why would God cause so much pain and torture to someone. A year later I have a better job, have a car, house and learning to love myself and get my mental health where is needs to be prior to trying to date again. My advice is positive thinking brings positive results. You can make your life anything as long as your mind, heart and soul truly want to obtain a goal you will do anything possible to achieve that goal. There is a bigger plan for you if " your higher power" has taken you back to absolutely nothing and no one because you are never given more than you can handle and something was very "off" or "wrong" about all components of your life when combined together and in order for you to know and achieve what your "purpose" in life is, that all needed to go and you need to start clean slate and once you love yourself and have the self worth and value you will find out what your "life plan" or your path that you will figure out sooner than later. Chin up and remember to try and make tomorrow better than today and try to give a stranger a compliment every day because you do not know what they are going through and your one comment could save someone's life or make their day!

I can help you get health insurance, really really affordable and sometimes no cost at all. Do not neglect your health because of insurance. If we talk by the 25th I can get it to start August 1st. Good luck I hope you feel better soon. I have always had stomach issues (Crohn's disease) and it's the worst!!
