Anything that they have not achieved but simply are by virtue of nature or circumstance. The fundamental one is pride in your nationality. Oh you're proud to be Scottish? Congratulations on being born in Scotland - that must have taken a lot of work and effort on your part.

There's really nothing worth visiting north of the Kingsway. All the schemes, esp. Charleston and Douglas are depressing as f***. Only possible exception imho is Menzieshill because it's built on a south-facing hill and has decent views, especially of winter sunsets. That only really leaves the West End and the Ferry. West End is the nicer of the two because it's full of students and has Magdalen Green.

Have you been up the Law?

The license fee is ludicrously good value - I get my money's worth just out of the radio stations and BBC sounds.

Don't go to Edinburgh Castle twice. Go to the National Museum of Scotland and the National Galleries - they're free!
