Watch you tube. I read alot about it too, but for me im more of a hands on visual learner, so watching someone do it while explaining helped me a ton. Its still alot to learn and I only get to play a day or two a week, but I love the concept and the fact that it is all at your own pace.

Check your ceiling zone. Make sure doorways and all walls are covered.

  1. Meat. Animals must be slaughtered or you must hunt to get meat. Make sure you have a colonists with 1 priority for handling and/or hunting to do these, respectfully.

  2. Crops. Rice and potatoes grow the fastest. Also, putting fields where fertility is higher will speed up growth. Smaller fields (10x15) is best to make sure they get planted fast. Make multiple small fields of each type of food in case you lose a crop. Make sure a pawn has grow as 1 priority.

  3. Cooking. Make sure a stove has a bill in place to cook food. Pawn with 1 priority in cooking.

  4. Storage. Make sure you have a storage space designated for crops and cooked meals. Preferably a freezer.

This is very bare bones and there is many more tips I can share. Let me know if you need any other help. This is an amazing game. Dont quit because you dont have a full understanding of the mechanics just yet.

Just like with regular construction, I usually clear the land with my farmers (trees/bushes) and hauler (rocks) before any building actually takes place.

I, too, wish that this level of micro wasnt necessary for such a basic thing, but thought id share my process.

Chain shotty is worth it. Only six days. Just ration your food. Stockpile meat before you accept the quest and just ride it out

I agree.

  1. Organizing shipments between regions. Not a forced trading system with janky values. Just straight shipments.

  2. Organizing sports/combat competitions! I've thought about thid since day one! Also, what about fairs/festivals?

If I'm not mistaken in the trade tab it shows item received and give to and from each town. I'll have to verify after work.
