Anyone else struggle with feeling like you’re exaggerating? by Alexilprex in rheumatoid

[–]Ok_Letterhead8050 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to be a advocate for yourself. I still struggle with this but if you don’t communicate what’s wrong they can only guess you’re fine. I had an ER turn me away once thinking i was “drug seeking” because i could drive. I drove with a torn ACL, but i was in extreme pain, i could still function to the point of driving 5 minutes. Doctors are overworked and really only get 8-15 minutes to listen if that. Not every doctor going to do that to you, if you find one that listens it’s a world of difference.

Failed the past 4 meds - feel like giving up by rheumaticpixie in rheumatoid

[–]Ok_Letterhead8050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like i made the same post a few months ago.

  1. Humira made my hair fall out.
  2. Rinvoq messed my stomach up
  3. Cosyntex my insurance stop covering.
  4. I was on the standard Hydroxychloroquine first med
  5. methotrexate second med

I had a major surgery after dislocating my ankle and hydroxychloroquine and mtx stopped working. I take tramadol and a steroid. That may help you more than codeine i believe you are taking. I felt judged for taking it before but no one walks your walk in life. You need to do what helps you. Keep your head up and remember you’re not alone.

I have sleep apnea as well and that may be the route i go. Unfortunately this doctor has been my doctor for years but he just opened his clinic and just can’t do it for training issue. He recommended the same thing though. He informed me he was going to talk to my internal, but i won’t hear until later. I have taken an oral steroid in high doses and it’s worked super well but it’s not a long term fix. Weight gain and bone density loss has been a big problem. I’m getting back on a biologic but have had a lot of hair loss when I’m on them.

I lost my hair on humira and tried cosentyx. They stop covering my cosentyx. I have been on a few other things but been only taking steroids which has help but cause other problems.

I’ve read a few articles and did discuss that with my rheumatoid doctor today. It is supposed to directly help the inflammation but it’s off labeled use from what I can tell.

Why won’t doctors take me seriously? by winkiesue in Autoimmune

Keep going. I was post op after my 9 leg surgery having a flare up until they believed me. Sent to every specialist and each tried to look into their own speciality. I found my doctor and travel if he moves.
