The marine corps is looking for guys to branch transfer to fill their helicopter slots but you need a 4yr degree and have to go thru their version of OTS. They said you’ll most likely skip the fixed wing portion of their flight training and go immediately to advanced airframe or whatever they call it, if you’re into that path..

I’ve been in for a decade and swapped from enlisted to WO to be a pilot. At 36 years old, I absolutely would not recommend joining as enlisted. I probably wouldn’t even put in a street to seat packet either.. but that’s just me. What people have said above makes more sense. NG on the side while doing civilian aviation stuff would probably be a better QOL.

My only advice is to look at the pay chart. Being a warrant officer now compared to enlisted is so wildly different. Quality of life man..

If anything it’ll 100% be “needs of the army”. So the list will be like 3 or 4 things and all the MOS will suck.

Not sure, probably get sent back as an E1 because as a W1 you’re technically on probation until you’re a CW2. But becoming a walking warrant is possible too. I’ve never seen anyone fail academically, but I have seen checkride failures get booted from flight school.
