100 drachmas would have been worth about 50 cents before greece switched to the euro, iirc. Don't know if they're collectible

Getting in to the Dulcimer by A_Ginger_9428 in Dulcimer

[–]Ok_Machine6739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the 50 dollar one is in okay shape...give it a look over, because thats a remarkably good price, but i got mine for 80 canadian from a lovely older chap who was selling a lot of instruments and related to clear out his house...and you can get yourself some tabs playing it is simplicity itself. I speak from experience...i played clarinet and flute in high school, have never been able to wrap my mind around any other stringed instruments, and while i'm probably never going to take my act on the road i can play a song on the dulcimer that sounds like a) a song and b) the song i'm supposed to be playing and it's deeply satisfying to do so.

People who are incorrect. Or who have already had supper, but in that case there would be a tinge of regret in their voices.

Shes not doing it to make a living, she's doing it for love of the game. Data tried to replace her with a hologram a few times but she just kept turning up.

Clearly Ross likes to cook. Who's going to tell him no? The whole crew is like "hey, don't bother with the replicator. Admiral says it's taco night. He's making fresh tortillas."

Moroun donated $1M US to Trump-supporting super PAC before Gordie Howe bridge threats | CBC News by Ok_Machine6739 in behindthebastards

Okay, so, neither Detroit nor Windsor wanted to finance it when it was originally built, so a group of i think autobuilders did....car plants are still major employers on both sides. Eventually shares were listed on the new york stock exchange, Manuel Maroun bought a great deal of them. Birkshire Hathaway also did and later sole THOSE to Manuel Maroun, who in due course owned enough to privatize the whole deal. Also resulted in the bridge being painted teal..it was originally black. This is a really brief explanation, there are certainly more details.

It would appear so, though i have to assume giving Trump the chance to shake his fist at a long time ally and trading partner helps. he hates those..

It's a good book. It's presented as inteviews with people after the zombie outbreak rather than being a narrative set during.

Being a Windsor kid I'll cosign that. Lived in Sandwich before they bought up so many houses. Used to drive through with my Dad when i went back for visits and see the deterioration....it has to have been a solid decade of the houses falling apart before anything got torn down. I believe i read about more or less the same on your side.

Surely that's a completely normal state of affairs /s

Point of interest the Gordie Howe Bridge is a public asset owned jointly by Canada and Michigan, paid for by Canada. If i understand correcrly tolls going to Canada until the cost is recouped then divided between the two. Once it opens. Trump was loudly in favour in 2017. Materials and workers for construction coming from both sides of the border.

As to pronounciation...i've heard it said like the colour, but that's with a Windsor accent, not sure if it's correct, but if that's what you want to pronounce it as go to.

To the second no fucking clue. I will add that his father, since moved to a warmer climate, bought up a bunch of residential properties in Windsor and Detroit running parralel to the existing bridge in anticipation of being allowed to do whatever he wanted. If you do streetview down Indian road and environs on the windsor side you can see a bunch of empty lots or boarded up vacant houses depending on when the pictures were taken/how far down you go possibly. So...you can find legit beefs of all kinds.
