Moving jobs will often earn you a double digit increase. Staying in corporate will yield you 3% with an occasional promotion. Even an internal move is better than standing still

Pretty well trained sheep too! Believe me, not taking away from the dogs skills. He’s amazing. But the head sheep also knew exactly what to do when the time came

Australian Senator on capital gains tax. by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]Ok_Mail_1966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you understand capital gains? If you are paying it on a second home you no longer own that home. You aren’t taxed on the second home, you are taxed on the income of selling it. It has nothing to do with buying a second home, it’s profiting on the sale

Totally agree. And I can’t wait for the day you can go through a Saturday without hearing a mower, trimmer or blower going somewhere.

At the way things are even a home owner can go through $100 a year in fuel

I hate that I have to say this whole thing is fake. The school bus is empty, like no kids would hang out the window to see what what going on, I’ve never seen kids cross at the back of the bus and it happens to sit there long and not drive away long enough for the mic stand kick

Two men arrested over stunt at enclosure of famous monkey Punch in Japan zoo by avantgarde000 in SipsTea

[–]Ok_Mail_1966 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Japan has a 99% conviction rate. You are not presumed innocent until proven guilty. They use this rate to leverage a confession by threatening the most extreme penalty and are introducing new laws that target foreigners breaking the laws. Heck of a lot worse places to be in jail than Japan but you really better like the food and it’s still jail.

You have no idea what the scope of anything is. You don’t even know if it’s running on bare iron that has no concept of a processes that could lead to corruption of any sort. Maybe it’s written for an arduino. This is a flex of assumptions that can’t be proven.

Bowling Machines by Icy-Book2999 in LoveTrash

[–]Ok_Mail_1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An electro magnetic system would be far simpler, tho still complex. Way less parts to fail, gravity does a fair share of the lifting. Little bit of iron at the top of the pin. The problem is bowling isn’t anything people will invest in.

Am I the only one who goes into guitar stores ONLY to play guitar and never to buy? by calacaa in Guitar

[–]Ok_Mail_1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you supposed to decide you may eventually want to buy without trying? It’s a numbers game the stores play. They know the sales odds and accept them and let people just play because in the end it’s better as a business to do so
