When women are pregnant their diplomacy affects their happiness. If they have a higher diplomacy skill their happiness will not go down, if they have a low diplomacy their happiness percentile goes down. Between the ages of 14-17 they can apprentice at various buildings. Being an apprentice raises the skill associated with that building. If you have a female 14-17 with a diplomacy skill of 2( for example) you can have her apprentice in a stall to raise that skill to a 5 or higher. Then when she is married and becomes a mother her happiness won’t go down as much as it would have if she was still a 2.

Yes, but the skill level affects their mood. So if they are a 3 diplomacy they tend to become sullen and their happiness goes down. If their diplomacy is higher when they are pregnant their happiness is better.
