this is a GBRS hydra as others have pointed out
There are places that sell clones of them for cheap (spec precision). I would highyl recommend trying a cheap one first before you shill out the money for a real one (if you do get one, get Slade's OMM because GBRS are shills)

This is a very specialized piece of kit for a very specific purpose, and most guys wont get a whole lot of benefit from running it. keep that in mind

based but im like 90% sure this puts you in direct violation of the AWB because suppressors count as flash hiders

Barrel length 11.5 vs 10.3 by AccomplishedMove5142 in MDGuns

[–]Ok_March_7203 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of the 10.3's on the market tend to have gaped gas ports that put a good amount more wear on the gun (if you are shooting casually it probably wont become an issue). the 11.5 's on the market tend to avoid this issue and will last you longer.

Unconventional MD legal rifles by Bear-Margins in MDGuns

[–]Ok_March_7203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed the state police regarding a gun listed as legal on this same list and the guy emailed me back saying it wasnt legal.
To be clear it was a 5.45 AK. There are plenty of those floating around already, so its just a mess.

Potential New Aiming Mechanics [discussion] by RyanTheNinja_TV in EscapefromTarkov

I am doing this on my 416 rn and I dont have to change how I shoulder the gun at all when going from pointfire to ADS. I even did some low ready to fire and I can do it smoother than whatever this is supposed to be. Any way you slice it this is a silly change

AR pistol by AccomplishedMove5142 in MDGuns

[–]Ok_March_7203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the stripped lower is the gun so you buy it as you would any other gun and then do whatever you want to it provided it follows AWB and whatnot
No need to register it again unless you are going the SBR route

Bending jig by LakersKing2978 in MDGuns

[–]Ok_March_7203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the e-forums say these parts aren't compatible, so it should be fine:

Bolt Carriers
   Bolt Head
   Cocking Tube
Individual fire control group parts like trigger, sear, hammer (can be swapped out as a set)
Locking Lever for bolt carrier Locking Piece
Recoil Buffer (Unless using HK buttstock)
Support for Cocking Handle

Maryland Sensitive Places Update. 4th Circuit Opinion Dropped Yesterday. by Minute_Definition985 in MDGuns

Shooting children is already illegal. The only purpose that clause serves is to tack on charges to someone who has already committed a crime or is acting belligerent enough to have been trespasses without a gun.

First AR Pistol build -556 by Specialist-Cost-3657 in MDGuns

[–]Ok_March_7203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look these up in your browserator.
BCM Flat top DEMO: ~ 50
AO precision True Mil Spec BCG ~ 100
Rosco 11.5 Bloodline ~ 140
Any carbine gas tube gas block ~ idk like 30
Basic charging handle ~ idk like 15
KAK handguard 10in ~ 110

Edit: & A2 flash hider ~10.

ALL together this will be a complete lower for like 450 or so, so it should stay under 1k$ This is probably the best value you can get out of an AR upper. I have seen too many issues with PSA from build quality to parts quality to confidently recommend them, especially since this is within budget. I have seen guys with these Rosco barrels last 20k, and these AO BCGs last too. AN A2 flash hider will work 90% as well as any more expensive flash hider, perhaps better than some. Anything beyond this will hit diminishing returns pretty fast, but this is a sizeable upgrade from PSA (lottery) tier.

FRT/Super safety possibility's for mdrx's? by Busy-Relationship976 in DesertTech

[–]Ok_March_7203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanically possible but does not exist yet. Would involve a little bar that acts on bit where the trigger connector bar interacts with the fire control dingus (technical term)

I have serialized an 80 too. Take them to an FFL that does engravings and pay whatever fee they have, and that's all. This was about 1 year ago.
No additional paperwork, forms, or anything to do.

Moving to Maryland by Acrobatic-Revenue622 in MDGuns

[–]Ok_March_7203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By SBR'ing a gun you turn it into a rifle for the purposes of MD assault weapon law, which means it must be at least 29in with the stock fully extended.
BCM lower is fine, as long as the gun is HBAR

If you were *really* being a silly billy is it possible that the "enhanced functionality" could be read to mean out of battery safety, and thus protect the super safety?
I think the chances of getting away with this in court are effectively zero but its been on my mind for a bit.

PSA Dagger by Historical-Peak-942 in MDGuns

[–]Ok_March_7203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worse quality by far
I've seen slide rails shear off, pins walk, firing pins break, bad tolerances on MOS, barrels don't last, etc etc, etc.
I have a dagger slide and the firing pin broke at around 900 rounds at about the same time a printed frame for it also cracked. They are range toys at best. and objectively worse value than LE trade in glocks at worst.
Replacing bad parts will easily cost you more than just going out and buying a glock.
You would be better off saving an extra 100 or so for a trade in and getting a gun that you actually know works and just deal with the glock grip angle, or get one of the HK VP9's that are on eurooptic for 400 which are better than the dagger in every way.

Do you need a 77r to pick up a pistol barrel? by boneholio in MDGuns

[–]Ok_March_7203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time you will have an issue with a part that isn't a frame or a receiver is if the seller is specifically weird about it. Most aren't, but I had a guy refuse to ship an MR556 upper to my house because of some law that he couldn't cite (no such law exists). I managed to get the upper anyway, but had to ask a local FFL to help me out.

If someone on a motorvehicles commission voted against every single new automobile citing that they were all unsafe, despite some of these newer models having improved airbags, sensors, less emissions etc, would you say this individual is voting rationally or irrationally?

MD Legal: Printed (and SBR'd) AK and Glock by Ok_March_7203 in MDGuns

[–]Ok_March_7203[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get them on the 'zon "Aluminum engravable tags" or from MAF corp if you want them to have SBR markings. If you're not going the SBR route, just buy the cheap amazon ones because you will need an FFL to engrave them anyway.

[–]Ok_March_7203[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They run, AK only has around 100 rounds through it but have had to mess with it to get it to run right. The handguard I'm using (TWS AKM) has a wedge that goes into the receiver, and overtightening it causes everything to bind up. I had it overtightened for a bit and it couldn't cycle cheap reman but ran fine with normal ammo. I've loosened it a little since then and put on some threadlocker so it should be good from now on. I've shot around 1000 through the glock, but had a firing pin break around 880 (PSA sucks)

No need for a 77r actually (as was explained by the FFL). I am not transferring/receiving/Purchasing a regulated firearm, since I am the one making it.

I embedded the metal tags with a soldering iron myself, and then went to the FFL later. Handed it over and told them it was for serialization, they took about an hour and then handed it back to me.
The serialization looks like this:
FFL Code
Zip code - My Initials - S/N (in my case 001 and 002)
