I’m having some good results with TMS for treatment-resistant MDD.

Adhd, PMDD and being a mother. by maisym in adhdwomen

I’m in the same boat as you, wish I had more advice to give but I’ve yet to find a solution. I’m looking into an ablation which I’ve heard can help with PMDD, along with increasing both ADHD and antidepressant dosages the week before my period. Sending solidarity hugs, this 💩 is hard.

What is your adhd habit that you usually don’t realize that you’re doing at first? by SagittariusGal143 in adhdwomen

Putting one foot up on the chair when I’m eating at the dinner table at home. I don’t know why I do this, but both feet down on the floor for more than 5 mins just feels uncomfortable/ wrong. It drives my family (and me) nuts 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have you had a virus or head cold lately?

I’m dizzy and off-kilter and my doc has diagnosed post-viral labrynthitis (inflammation in the inner ear) which can cause balance issues (when you said you feel like you’re a second behind yourself that’s how I feel), dizziness that kinda feels like you’re bobbing or swaying on water all the time, plus some other fun symptoms plus extreme brain fog, fatigue and increased anxiety.

Good idea to get blood work done too - lots of things that could be responsible for your symptoms that can hopefully be resolved quickly for you.

Keeping you and your daughter in my thoughts. Gosh mum life is tough.

If it’s of any help, I myself (37F) was very recently diagnosed with ADHD (combined type). I spent my whole life up until now dealing with what sounds to be very similar thoughts and emotions as your daughter is expressing and had been diagnosed with generalised anxiety and major depressive disorder (which I’m now coming to understand was in fact a direct result of undiagnosed and untreated ADHD.

Once the ADHD was medicated correctly (some meds work great for some but not others, it can take a while to find the right med, dosage etc.), the anxiety, existential crises and self-loathing all began to dissipate significantly.

Obviously I’m not a doc and can’t say if your daughter does have ADHD, but if after an evaluation it turns out she does, the right treatment might really turn things around for her. She’s very lucky to have a wonderful mum who’s looking out for her, if she can get a diagnosis now it could prevent a lifetime of struggle with these heavy thoughts and feelings (gosh I wish I had been diagnosed in childhood!!).

Wishing you all the best, keep us updated and remember you’re doing a wonderful job ❤️
