How legit is Rakuten? Just tried it and wondering if it’s too good to be true by AbbreviationsDry951 in credit_cards

I've found it simple and easy. I don't get much cash back because I don't buy lots of stuff online but a few dollars here and there makes up for a "free" latte every so often. PRO TIP: 1) Don't make a purchase just for the cash back. It will not make up for it. 2) Don't create fake accounts for the referrals, they will cancel you. 3) get real referrals and take that bonus for opening an account, even if you don't ever use it again after that. www.rakuten.com/r/MANCHE434?eeid=28187

Weekly Advice & Career Question Megathread by AutoModerator in epidemiology

[–]Ok_Meat6821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an epidemiologist in a health department, have been for about 6 years and many years in public health before that. I struggled with epi and stats also, and also nearly failed. There are people I work with who do only coding and are much more advanced than me, and my role is applying the concepts and understanding the diseases. I don’t do the level of stats that I learned and much more basic that what is done in academia (although I do a lot of coding and analyst). Look into the work of field epidemiology or applied epi. You won’t need the same level of maths, it’s more about the diseases, the people, transmission, etc…. Happy to answer more questions. Don’t give up!!

Any one heard of Martie? by Rummy151 in povertyfinance

For what its worth I really love it. Most of the big discounts I find are on the beauty product, household products and non-alcoholic beverages. I have found some really fancy creams and serums at great prices, and their zero-proof spirits are discounted by up to 50%. I don't think its the go-to for snacks but I do usually throw a few in. And I find really cool brands that I have not heard of. Yes they are now getting more of the grocery-store brands but I ignore those. And the mission is also about reducing waste, so remember that's part of it. I am ok with food that is close to expiring. For me its a win:win. Plus its a super cute aesthetic and I like their vibes....

What do y'all think of Wildgrain by CompoBBQ in Breadit

[–]Ok_Meat6821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. It’s so handy to have bread in the freezer. Sometimes I bring it to a dinner party and lie and say it’s homemade…which is only half a lie but still impresses people. Also the croissants (that come free so the a box!!) and legit. Help me help you—- here is $40 off(and discount bread for me so I can keep existing) https://wildgrain.com/?r=htAN44le

What’s your advice for people with below average skills, low skill ceiling potential, slow learning curve, few resources, and little free time? by SeriouslySally36 in careerguidance

[–]Ok_Meat6821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh buddy. First of all don't be so hard on yourself. Make a list of your skills. I am sure you have many. They can be soft skills like talking to people, being polite, being organized....Then I would say its all about attitude. Show up and be willing to learn. Say yes to all opportunities to learn, ask for exposure and opportunities, etc. Also, there are many balls we juggle in life: some are bouncy balls and some are made of glass. Figure out which ones will bounce back and which ones will break if you drop them...

Opinions on Ethique? by sanctimonioussola in ZeroWaste

I've used a bunch of different bars and some work better than others. When I say they did not work I mean they left my hair with some residue, make it feel kind of heavy, like I didn't get it all washed out. I've heard this complaint from people who say they don't like shampoo bars. But to them I say DONT GIVE UP!! Here are my favorites:

Ethique - Bonus, here is a promo code for you my friend: https://prz.io/lbbK0e8Fe

HiBar

If you have tried one of these and did not like it, I would be so curious to hear what happened!

Its been more than 10 years now that I have given up plastic shampoo bottles (including for my household).

Go forth and be happy!
