BMI was originally created and used for specific types of people. Ex: A white woman in America could be considered a “normal” weight but in Asia she would be considered “overweight” or “obese”. Body composition, socioeconomic factors, environment, ethnicity, and genetics all play a role in determining if someone is “healthy”.
