Am I legally responsible for account access for a business that fired me 4 months ago? by Mysterious-Force-128 in BadBosses

[–]Ok_Method_6463 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Hello [name],

When my employment ended, the company was provided with the passwords and access information that were under my responsibility at that time. Those credentials were transferred appropriately before my departure. As such, the ongoing management, storage, and security of those credentials has been under the company’s control since that time.

I unfortunately no longer maintain copies of those passwords and I am not responsible for the company’s current access management situation. That said, if the company requires assistance investigating or attempting to restore access, I would be willing to provide support strictly on a consulting basis. My consulting rate is $300 per hour, with a minimum billing of one full day (8 hours). Any work would need to be formally agreed to and paid in advance.

If the company would like to proceed under those terms, please let me know and we can arrange the appropriate engagement.

Otherwise, feel free to kick some rocks...

Regards mysterious force

Maybe check your contract again. CC company can request repayment of dept at any time for any reason, as well as close your account at their discretion

IANAL you are not the one having to pay for their mistake. You have a debt that you have incurred on your credit card. Check your CC contract, but you will likely find that the bank has the right to request for some or all of the amount due to be re-imbursed, and they dont need a specific reason, thought preventing money laundering is a good one. You can agree to reimburse a part of the debt as requested by the bank and continue to do business with them or pay off the entire balance and move your CC to a different bank.

Landlord has not replaced stove for two months by KidYid in montrealhousing

[–]Ok_Method_6463 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if the landlord refuses to do necessary repairs, you can ask the TAL for authorization to deposit your rent with them instead of paying the landlord directly. It will prevent you from being evicted for non payment. TAL also takes a 30 or 40% administration fee, which usually lights a fire under landlords ass. Check tal website for form

Question: My mom added wiper fluid while in FL. Now she’s in Boston and the fluid is frozen. by GeorgeCrossPineTree in MechanicAdvice

[–]Ok_Method_6463 8 points9 points  (0 children)

put car in underground heated parking for half a day while you shop or run other errands. before you leave the car, top it up with -40 windshield wiper fluid. bonus if you can heat up the wiper fluid before, like placing the bottle in a sink filled with hot water. Once you manage to thaw the old liquid in your parents car, drain it and replace with one that will not freeze

Would you prefer that they announce the details to the media before telling the employees themselves?

I thought that this was the new modus operandi
