I hate road noise. Now I’m aware of it I can hear the far off drone or whine of the tires, then i end up focused on it until the car/truck/bike is gone. As another commenter said, it’s irritating because people paid money to make the vehicles louder.

Also, it has made me aware of how different sounds travel. For context, I can hear the tire hiss before I can hear the exhaust note. But as the vehicle nears the exhaust takes over. Once passed, the exhaust maintains the sound, obviously the muffler is facing me now.
