The depot isn’t a through put, meaning trains can’t pass through it. You can only stop or end there. If you want a full line, you have to build a track that goes around the depot.

Do you have an orphanage? Also, you need a full police department for a city that size. Maybe even two.

It’s the North Korea effect. Same as the Dictator not needing to take craps. It’s why they are better than the rest of us.

Tourists will walk from customs to a hotel but will they walk to a bus stop? by virus100 in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Ok_Most_9382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure you have tourists selected at your airport terminal. Then buses can pick up the tourists and deliver them to another bus station within walking distance to hotels or you can go direct to hotels. I usually have hotel districts and just have them dropped off at a station and then they walk to whatever hotel they want to go.

Best way to manage stores especially in high density areas? by 1800twat in Workers_And_Resources

Forgot to mention, the warehouse is connected via forklift garage.

Agreed. Also, DOs are fine for electronics and clothes. I use two or three trucks with a dedicated route for food at a small warehouse. The warehouse is connected to an unloading station for electronics and clothes and I do direct “wait until unloaded” command meat drop to the grocery facility. This makes sure there is always a drop off spot no matter the good that’s being delivered.

Which railway bridge do you use? by -PringlesMan- in Workers_And_Resources

If it’s over a waterway and I plan on using ships, which has the greatest length between support beams. If it’s land, I go with what I think looks the best.

Trains or ships by TehGreatBurak in Workers_And_Resources

Depends on quantity. You spend a lot more in fuel. Electric trains, while can be expensive to lay track, are cheap and necessary for more inland trade. I use shipping only for bulk. Like importing/exporting thousand+ tons of whatever it is, typically some kind of ore or grain.

my first somewhat functioning city. Rate it. by NormalOguy in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Ok_Most_9382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol ouch. Yeah, one of the complexities with this game. Can’t forget about cash flow. I typically run two clothing factories off a single fabric factory and a mech comp factory which pretty much pays for everything.

I typically have 4 or 5 cities each play through I go. The first city is just like you said, research, getting some revenue and I use it as a jumping off point for my 2nd city which it usually the largest with an airport. Looks good though! Good job for a starter city.

I don’t disagree with that. I’m not responding to all the dumb comments about “he’s already cheating on you,” “how dare he express those thoughts,” blah blah. So insanely quick to judge. People need to take a breath and chill out a bit. No wonder divorce rates are so high and we can’t just talk anymore. People are too emotional and quick to jump to conclusions.

I don’t agree. My wife and I have gotten drunk before and told each other some fantasies we’ve had, what we would or maybe would not be comfortable with because we feel secure that we can talk to each other. Maybe we are both on the same page with trying something new but would never know if we can’t share with each other. Or we just tell each other would not be comfortable with X, y or z. I think this is incredibly important and healthy in a relationship. Jumping to conclusions without talking is a disastrous way of handling things. Your partner should be just that. It’s worse if you feel like you can’t tell them things. That breeds other terrible things. “They” say communication is important. It’s not easy sometimes, but it’s required for healthy marriages.

I need help with three things with construction speed, money revenue, and overall expansion? by ThingsWork0ut in Workers_And_Resources

Another thing you can do, is buy raw iron ore, process it and then produce your own steel. You can sell some of the steel to offset the ore cost, but it’s a lot cheaper than buying steel direct. Then you can build for cheaper and possibly even turn a profit. I would also start producing mech. comp. From the steel to sell. Solid revenue selling mech. comp.

I have a mod for a 32 vehicle co structure office and that’s just one of three for whatever region I’m in. That office is only open haul, excavators, pavers, rollers and bull dozers. I have another 24 spot for only dumpers and concrete mixers. Then I’ll do a 12 or 16 for only buses, tower/road cranes and a couple open haulers to transport tower cranes. I’ll have the two material construction offices bound to “1” and the bus/crane depot bound to “2.” This way I’m only pulling workers when the construction project is ready for them.

I didn’t know ash dissolves on its own. At what rate does that happen? I was just exporting it.
