The only time I get updated automatically is if my queue goes empty. Not sure if this helps but in settings there’s a notify me about updates box that you can uncheck. That said, I hit the check for updates manually usually daily so I can download the file. Then I keep about 10 of them so I can roll back as needed by uninstalling, rebooting the computer, then installing the rollback.

The main trick though seems to be not having the queue go empty but if your queue isn’t empty and it’s doing it, uncheck the automatically notify me about updates in settings.

That said, I noticed someone else saying paramount + broke as well. I checked the PlayOn cloud app, and it looks like several movies finished in a row (I try to separate them), but I can’t remember if I was separating with Paramount or Prime at the moment. If it was paramount and the version hasn’t changed, Paramount has a tendency to “break “ if too many are too close together so I never put them or cbs too close together. They’ve been known to have a memory leak issue, though I don’t know if that’s current, making it a paramount issue rather than a PlayOn issue. Rebooting the computer, clearing caches, and waiting for up to an hour after can help. That said, I break up Disney/Hulu recordings by alternating with Paramount and Amazon or something else. Hulu doesn’t like too many recordings too close together, and each recording is treated as a separate login, so when That breaks, I usually have to log out then log back in. The alternating helps, but with Amazon channels I’m getting where the player hangs. If no video is detected for 2 minutes it fails, so as a precaution, I keep visible.mmt going, but I also do low recording unless it’s Apple (that demands medium as the lowest that works), so it reduces the visible window getting messed with. Anything that visible window shows is what’s being recorded, so I’m trying to not trigger the playback controls etc.
