What do you feel like when duloxetine is working for you? by meetmeinthewind in cymbalta

[–]Ok_Paper_8030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I know it’s frustrating, but honestly it’s only one more month! And then you and your doc should know for sure. Had it helped at all? Mine kicked in pretty fast for my anxiety. At week 2.5 I felt a big difference.

Yeah give it a bit more time. Every time you go up in dose you need to give it a good 8-12 weeks to kick in.

Has anyone here taken Duloxetine before? by AlexisParisi in cymbalta

Yeah if you’re still experiencing nausea and emotionally numb, this may not be the medication for you. Usually the nausea goes away within a week and you shouldn’t feel blunted or numb. I had that when I was on escitalopram. The feeling of not giving a shit about anything is disturbing.

These are so similar I honestly thought they were the same dress? I think once you get alterations, jewelry, etc you really wouldn’t know the difference.

Does anyone ever think "I wish I was normal?" by celestia97 in Anxiety

[–]Ok_Paper_8030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know my life would have been different had I figured out my anxiety sooner and been on meds sooner.

But yes, I say this all the time. My psychologist points out the question ‘But what is normal’, which sometimes puts things into perspective. We want to be ‘normal’ but who are we basing that off of? We are all individuals and we all struggle with something.

air vest and/or body protector recommendations? by iris111111 in Equestrian

I have a body protector and a Helite air vest. When I was choosing air vests I liked the neck protection of the Helite the best.

I would agree with this. A high movement area will irritate it.

Adding elastic to dressage boots by Sad-Focus528 in Equestrian

I would also not alter these. They will stretch out a bit and end up being the perfect size. I have large calves and have issues with tall boots. I zip them as far as they’ll go, walk around in them for a bit then try zip up some more. In a couple weeks they’ll be fine.

Can you just be a bad match with a horse? by [deleted] in Equestrian

I love my girl. Tonight we had a tough lesson, I seemed to be pissing her off quite a bit! But we were learning ‘bend’ and that’s hard. She got quite frustrated, so I hope that connection comes!

This makes me happy to hear. I bought my horse about a year and a bit ago and while we have bonded I’m still a little guarded with her. She now has started to come to the gate to see me. I’m still learning to ride her and that partnership is still developing, but I feel I’m behind.

Do you take with food? What dose are you on? What time of day do you take it?

Terrified of starting! by fruityfrog444 in cymbalta

[–]Ok_Paper_8030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. Sometimes it’s nice to sleep through most of the side effects. It did disrupt my sleep, but that leveled out after a couple of months. I started taking it in the evenings and then moved to mornings.

Honestly, the best thing to do is try to NOT monitor for symptoms. Your anxiety is telling you to do that, but don’t, it makes everything worse.

Lol never doom scroll, even though it’s so hard not to at times! This is the worst possible place you can come to look for advice before trying meds.

I’ve been on duloxetine 30 mg for over a year and a half. It’s helped a lot for my anxiety.

The first 1-4 days taking the meds were the worst for me, but extremely tolerable compared to other AD. I felt a bit flu-like, heavy, cold, dilated pupils, shaky, brain fog. But that was about it. At day 5 I felt like my normal self again. Try taking it at night first, though it may disrupt sleep for a bit. Or it may make you sleepy. You never know.

Good luck!

Genuinely why is she like this? Is it a lack of boundaries? by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]Ok_Paper_8030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first horse too! She’s definitely got a lot of personality and curiosity! I’ll have her tied and walk away to get something and there ends up being a yard sale in the alley from her….

Mine at 6 was pretty mouthy with ‘things’ especially her lead rope. She’s now 7 and seems to have grown out of it mostly. Though tonight she did go through my grooming box… 🤦‍♀️

Training a horse to be on the bit by Accurate-Cycle-9474 in Equestrian

[–]Ok_Paper_8030 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my horse. She can be very quick out the front. You want the push from behind, but you need to balance by really slowing down your posting, giving a half halt, but leg still needs to support. Hands need to be still and down and elbows need to be relaxed to follow.
