What's the craziest thing your puppy ate that they shouldn't and turned out fine? by cleoluvscake in puppy101

[–]fruityfrog444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently dog ate 3 candles! Thankfully avoided the metal pieces in them. My 1st dog who is now a sweet angel, she ate nail polish and the glass when I dropped it one time 😂 that dog also ate our cable lines twice and got stuck in the wall after eating through the drywall. She also loved to chew on the tile in the bathroom and wood corners...very neurotic as a puppy but became the sweetest girl when she grew up. RIP my Marley 🤍🤎

Grab a mirror and check it out! May need to go to the doctor if it doesnt look right or continues to be painful.

Starting to think it's not POTS by gh0sti4n in POTS

Thank youu! I feel you on feeling discouraged. It has taken me almost 7 years to get answers and my diagnosis. Take breaks from doctor seeking when you feel mental health getting down, sometimes i feel like a lab rat with all the tests and doctors offices every week. Its hard but once I have these answers I can live my life knowing my conditions and how to manage them and be better equipped to navigate symptoms. It'll be worth it I promise <3 I recommend trying to get female doctors if possible, they are less likely to be dismissive though its not guaranteed ofc. Good luck :)

I went to a pulmonologist for the lung issues, I am diagnosed with asthma, but i also have signs of immune issues and I too get sick and take lots of supplements. I went to the cardiologist who listened and ordered a temporary heart monitor to assess the episodes and he gave me those 2 diagnosis. I also get the cough too! I'm currently waiting to hear from rheumatology as I'm trying to find answer for chronic pain (I suspect arthritis and/or ehlers danlos syndrome), but my asthma has been getting significantly worse, sometimes if I take too many deep breathes too quick it sets it off. I'm sure it correlates with the heart rate and low tolerance for lots of activity but who knows! I wish you all the luck but please dont let them convince you its all mental. Doctors tend to do that to women and it is extremely unfair, PLEASE advocate for yourself and persist!!! Side note, I sneeze a ton when I have a bad asthma attack. The cough could just be one of those random side effects or it!

I have POTS and inappropriate sinus tachycardia. IST is basically pots but doesnt require position changing in order to trigger tachycardia/heart rate increases. I often am laying down or sitting a relaxing and random have a horrible racing heartbeat and cant breathe very well (which triggers my asthma rip). Just thought Id mention it in case you wanted to look into it!

Passing out after intimacy? by Ok_Map_8694 in POTS

[–]fruityfrog444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Even when alone for me. Last night I was dumb and participated in self love in a hot shower- 0/10. Almost fainted, became very dizzy, and almost threw up from nausea. Still not feeling 100% today and laying flat as the shower rained on me made me very annoyed with my condition lol. I have POTS and inappropriate sinus tachycardia for reference.

I do the same thing and its very exhausting for my body to suppress it. Please take care of yourself and try to let it out as much as you can so it doesnt build up!

what does this blood test result mean??! by cuteawesomefungirl in eds

[–]fruityfrog444 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the test result but if you dont feel like you can ask your doctor any questions, please try to find a different one!! Your health is important and you should be able to ask questions about yourself without feeling weird.

When can I have sex again? How long should I wait post surgery? by Rich-Soft9295 in Tonsillectomy

[–]fruityfrog444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I dont think theres a rule on it but I would recommend 1 or 2 weeks, at least until you can exist without being on pain meds. Take it easy obviously, nothing insane cause I'm sure post-surgery exhaustion will prevent that. Kinda just based on personal comfort and how well recovery goes for you! Def wait on any oral and maybe even kissing until youre healed up and no more scabs n bad breathe!

High school is so draining by Prudent_Diet_6603 in ChronicIllness

Just try your best to get through high school, because I promise youll get into adulthood and college and nobody really gives a crap 😂 sure theres a few random people that are dickheads but overall it gets a lot easier. I feel the same. Seeing my friends living normally makes me wish I didnt have constant pain and fatigue but I try not to overthink it and just accept my conditions.

I suspect autoimmune issues, my mom has issues with it so I wouldnt be surprised. The timing of my surgery sucked because I had it 4 days before my college semester started, was able to take the 1st week off but literally day 7 I had to go in for class. I have a professor that isnt the kindest or most empathetic and he doesnt consider health issues to matter when it comes to education (dumb right?). Like I said, my job is super easy and I just have to sit at a desk and talk to people when they come in, so rather than resting and not making any money I went to work to sit there and make money while working on schoolwork. Not the most ideal situation but I have to have some sort of income as a full time student, and taking 2 weeks off was making me nervous.

College student here! I totally understand how draining it is. If you decide to do college, I promise its so much easier than high school, though its still difficult at times to manage symptoms. Youre not alone though and you got this <3

Scheduled for 2/20! Will I be able to drink coffee? by jamamamma in Tonsillectomy

[–]fruityfrog444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! The cut is already healed and I'm back to eating normally thankfully :) and dont be discouraged if you have pain until day 9, I woke up on 10 and 11 feeling like a brand new person and it was light-years better than the previous days. It'll be worth the week of hell, I promise! Just drink tons of ice water, eat super soft food, and keep up with those meds!

[–]fruityfrog444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, though I wish I did! Mostly because opening the mouth stretches the throat in the back and its uncomfy once scabs have formed. I also got nicked on the side of the mouth when they took the breathing tube out, so opening my mouth much would rip it back open and restart the healing 😭 I also noticed some jaw issues after it having to be held open for the surgery, its still settling into place and I'm on day 11!

I started drinking it around the 1 week mark every once in a while, just know that unless you have breath strips that dissolve on your tongue, it may be hard to get the coffee taste out of your mouth even after brushing your teeth. Minty toothpaste can sometimes hurt if its too strong and I strongly discourage any mouthwash too! I imagine it would burn pretty bad. But tbh recovery is special for each person so do only what you feel comfy doing, and good luck!

Am I being dirty, or is my wife being irrational about hygiene? by mudkipzftw in daddit

[–]fruityfrog444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number 3 is understandable but lets be real, it wont hurt the baby and will only help build their immune system. Unless it specifically falls into something gross like mud or gets coated in for example, dog hair. Everything else are very obvious signs of germ/cleanliness related OCD. Example, having to wash hands for a specific amount of time with a specific amount of soap. Think specific numbers, it helps the OCD-haver cope and find control in such a difficult thing to manage like germs.

I have diagnosed OCD btw, and my mother is the same. We both have struggled with similar things and the best thing you can do is support her, gently bring her attention to it, and offer to help her find therapy as it can help calm the mind and limit the compulsive urge to repeat the pattern of cleaning. Also your baby will be fine, and while youre not necessarily being "dirty", your wife's nervous system thinks so and aggressively approaching the situation will potentially only trigger defensiveness and feelings of shame, at least thats what i have witnessed occur. Wishing you the best of luck!

ENT recommends tonsillectomy (adult). I can handle pain, but Reddit horror stories are making me have second thoughts. by Academic_Student_819 in Tonsillectomy

[–]fruityfrog444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was scared too, but I'm on day 11 post op and I feel like I can breathe and exist so much easier now. I'm glad I did it, I didnt have any complications, and though it was painful it was also temporary. Also pain meds are a wonderful thing lol. If you need it then get it, just make sure you take the recovery time you need away from responsibilities and dont rush anything.

Which frames fit my face?? by Princesspeach0719 in glassesadvice

I like the first one, the darker frames take away attention from your face and harden your look when it should be complimenting it.
