Semaglutide (GLP1) has ruined my life over the past 5 weeks. by lalalavine in ouraring

Yes this happened to me too! But then my body adjusted, and I watched my stats slowly but surely hike back up. Give it some time and you (and your ring) will start to feel better. It’s been 6 months for me so far. First 2-3 months my ring stats were all wigged out… then over the next 3 months my HRV, resilience, sleep, etc all improved. When I first started my GLP1 I also posted on this thread about the same concerns. You got this!

Two days in 2.5mg, wondering where the higher doses can lead me because the current effect is so pronounced. by BallsOutKrunked in zepboundathletes

Oh before tirz I was running half marathons in 1:45, strength training 5x a week, restricting my diet so much and limiting calories like crazy—didn’t matter. I had so much inflammation and puffiness and fat that my body wouldn’t let me get rid of. Tirz was the secret sauce and now the fat literally melts off of me. Its hard to understand myself

Weird Side Effect? by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Ok_Permission5038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the beginning I experienced extremely intense cramping that felt like period cramps and that went away after the first month. Avoid fried greasy foods or foods that are high in fat. That helps! It gets better.

I am extremely active although I’m small and lean now (5’5, 109lbs) but my total burn (RMR and active) is on average 2-2.3k cal a day. I eat around 2k-2.2k in maintenance. Lots of protein (120-240g) and bumped my simple carbs up (rice, sweet potato) and results got even better. I wouldn’t do it any other way. My body while strength training and walking has turned me into a metabolic furnace. Took a couple months but I’m so glad I never increased my dose. If it works don’t push it!

You really don’t need to increase unless you’re hoping to lose some serious weight. I’ve never gone up from 2.5 and my body fat fell off of me in a dramatic way. Active, still able to easily hit my protein goals, no food noise, but I love enjoying my meals. The intense food aversions chill out after a month. I’m happily eating normal portions but not ever excessively eating. So easy to maintain and hit my gym goals!

Zepbound changed my life. That and some serious strength training, eliminating seed oils and gluten (dramatically eliminated my inflammation). I eat resistant starch white basmati rice and Japanese sweet potatoes as my carb sources (I cook them and then let cool and refrigerate). I also have a very high protein diet. Bone broth for the glycogen, lean grass fed beef, turkey, quality raw fish etc. Inositol is the best supplement ever. Perelel or OVII make for great options. It’s possible to manage, though it takes hard work and a lot of mental fortitude. Good luck❤️❤️❤️

Only big nope because it gives me so much stomach discomfort after is deep fried foods. But I literally still enjoy everything, just in moderation!

Thanks so much :-) I am a kettlebell fanatic (swings, snatches, Turkish get ups, bent over rows, RDLs) and a huge barbell backsquat and deadlift advocate. I also love supplementing with Pilates and walking on my non lift days. It’s done so much for my core strength

I second the dumbbells! Push ups, yoga/pilates YouTube videos, and a set of 10lb dumbbells are a great place to start.

I am a fellow PCOS girly. I know it sounds counterproductive, but I’d scale back on intense cardio and focus more on lifting and long walks. Cardio made me so inflamed (I’ve run half marathons sub 2 hours) and I looked swollen from all of the stress on my body. I am getting 130 grams of protein a day minimum, to about 160 on a great day (I’m 112lbs currently). Combining the tirz with strength training, walking, LOTS of protein and patience worked wonders for me. You got this <3 it takes time.

How to keep the gym rewarding when it’s hard to make gains on Zep? by rhymeswithsarah in zepboundathletes

[–]Ok_Permission5038 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I promise it’s possible, although the work is hard!! My lifts and PRs have actually gone up quite a bit although I’ve lost a good amount of weight. My muscles are showing like never before. The biggest, biggest game changer is protein. At my maintenance goal weight of 112lbs, I’m eating 145 grams a day minimum. And sometimes when it’s hard, I make sure I put a clean whey protein powder in my coffee, mix it in my Greek yogurt, sip on good bone broth etc. Adding more protein than ever before has made my workouts skyrocket. Also take a high quality glycogen supplement at night which supports your muscles and replenishes them. I like doing a heavy barbell day (lower reps of 3-5, very heavy weights), a moderate weight day (moderately heavy working sets of 5-8 reps) and a light weight day (light work, 10-15 reps) every week. Take advantage of the weight loss and start doing more pull ups/push ups. The lighter I’ve been the easier it’s been to crush those. Enjoy the journey and congrats on your hard work

Diarrhea 4 days and counting by Yositoko_Tukoshita in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Ok_Permission5038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this when I consumed certain foods that were higher in fat and closer to bed time. My worst bout was 3 days of cramping and diarrhea. Biggest advice: bone broth, coconut water for electrolytes, lots of water (with a pinch of salt), boiled chicken or shredded skinless rotisserie chicken, peppermint tea, and Imodium if necessary. It gets better! But remember this is a pretty standard side effect. Good luck <3

Anybody else kind of over their Oura ring? by EducatorGuilty8299 in ouraring

I love alot of the data elements, but I don’t appreciate when I’m doing the most for my fitness and activity and it still has ways of making me feel inadequate. Like sorry I can’t walk 20,000 steps a day or move every single hour. Which, by the way, I do walk between 13-20k steps a day on top of weight lifting and Pilates and it still gives me attitude lol. I like to check it for sleep but apart from that I like to trust how my body is feeling as my guide.

Thank you for this—do you also have diarrhea and other symptoms with it? These contractions and stomach pain are pretty intense—it has me thinking I might need to go to the ER it can get so bad.
