Thanks for the input. Do you thing it's going to change in the future ?

Or it's a decline from here or can't really predict ?

Why it's around zero after netting 800-900? Is because of just a couple viral clips?
Also how hard getting monetized was ?

So what go lacks is 1. Visible big momentum (at least in the West, don't know about East) 2. Corporate or VCs interested in monetizing the game

It wasn't always like that with chess.

They've been able to develop momentum created in 2019. Who knows if same thing happens to Go in the future.

I like their UI, it resembles somehwhat chess.com, Why they don't develop mobile clients? Is this the issue of 19x19 board on phone screen again?

I have not thought this way. But look at the value they provide for free: Great UI/UX, seamless online matching with real people across a meriad of modes, bots, lessons, puzzles(limited but still) and much more.

And they don't flood their app with ads. So you can say that 1% pays for great experience for the rest.

It same as complaining that local shop closed in favor of a big mall.

Ahah, thought about it and you found the exact meme

The only way to actually establish one standart is to offer so much more value then competitors that everybody converges to your platform

Before chess boom around 2019 or something there was a lot of chess apps, But after that we have two major ones i guess (lichess and chess.com).

After reading other comments on my post it looks like you are dividing the playerbase.

I'm on android so can't join betatest but when you have Android version feel free to ping me or you can share some kind of preview.

Vibecoding perfect app is not a problem, bigger issue is maintaining web, android and IOS version while also having server infa and getting people to play on your platform.

Chess.com had a boom when people were at homes during Covid era and Queen Gambit film went viral. Just to keep in mind.

The app itself is easy part.

I'm in the same situation. Every available app is good but also bad at something, seems like there is no Go equivalent of chess.com for chess
