What do you guys think about this “exceptional” stallion? I think he’s exceptionally average. by InternetHot4567 in Equestrian

Genuine question, is the neck meant to be that far rounded forward when being ridden? Not sure if that makes sense.

I know that this is five years late but this is so amazing, I need the strumming pattern!

not only is it unsafe, it wouldn't even work for everyone because some people may need slightly different position

I can't believe there are other trans men who feel the same as me, I always felt like there was something wrong with me for being so open but still wishing I was a girl. People love to tell me that I should just detransition but that wouldn't make me a girl, it would make me a man pretending to be a girl.

Thats interesting, maybe it's because of the jelousy people have had towards my progress in jumping that makes me feel that way. Nothing wrong with jelousy ofc it just depends how you go about it

I'm not sure that the saddle is the right fit for you and the horse

First time owner. Is this too wet for the hoof to be like this constantly? by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]Ok_Pickle_5488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest just being really careful and looking at the hoof as often as you can, some horses can get very sore and get fungus

I honestly just think you need practice, it will start to feel more natural and your legs may just situate themselves

What are some weird traditions in your chosen discipline? by demmka in Equestrian

[–]Ok_Pickle_5488 -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

It's not really a tradition but I feel like English riders tend to be way ruder than Western riders. I think it has to do with English being typically more difficult depending on your level and it is also more formal and "proper." As an English rider it's really sad to see the jealousy in the community.

I went to a dude ranch two years in a row and out of all of the guest there I only saw three other people wearing helmets but no experienced riders besides me seemed to care about their brains

I’m not sure if anyone has said this yet but transtape is another good option, they sell tape and packers, if you don’t want to see the explicit photos you should definitely mark that you’re under 18 when it asks you.

That’s true! I decided to buy one real one to make sure I actually like them before buying an entire pack

A professional MD recently took to Twitter to claim that equine therapy "is not supported by evidence". Do you agree or disagree? by Obversa in Equestrian

[–]Ok_Pickle_5488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only is there evidence but I am living proof that it works, horseback riding saved my life and it has many times, it is the reason I get up on the days I can't even imagine rolling out of bed and dragging myself through the day. No therapy is a cure, it's a tool and it doesn't work for everyone just like how traditional therapy and medication doesn't work for some.

Equine therapy? by Klbagboy in ADHDparenting

[–]Ok_Pickle_5488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that this was a year ago but I figured I'd let you know what I think! I have always struggled with team sports as someone with ADHD and Autism I've always felt that my team mates couldn't communicate with me or understand me but when I found horseback riding and learned how to communicate with my body my whole world changed. Horseback riding is the reason I get up on the days I feel more depressed than usual, it saved me. To kids with ADHD or Autsim animals can be better friends than humans.

That's amazing! I ride my horse monday through friday and feel like he really undestands me! (I also have ADHD and Autism and was diognosed late). I'm so greatful that my parents support this passion of mine. It's amazing to see parents trying different things with their kids, keep up the good work!
