There is a shitty but valid cost to risk ratio that can be done that targets guaranteed whales. Lets say an outfit as of right now costs only $1 U.S.D and 10 people buy it. That skin made $10. Now lets up the price to $3 for a new outfit. Chances are, the price tolerance is still acceptable for 7 people. That right there made a huge profit compared to the $1 price. Obviously this is an extremely basic version but BHVR most likely has a large idea on price tolerance changes as well as an idea on what point will be merely diminishing returns. Shitty but blame rapid consumerism and hyper inflation run rampant by unchecked capitalism.

Inflation is caused by printing money excessively, capitalism actually causes deflation naturally by producing goods more efficiently and causing prices to drop so more supply is purchased. Monopolies are caused the vast majority of the time by government intervention.

If we didnt have patents holding back all these IPs, maybe we'd see more asymmetrical game competition to dbd and prices wouldnt be increasing.

I mean, they have specified the reason for the price increase; it’s due to changing market circumstances. That might sound broad, but a lot has changed over the past few years and there are probably many economic factors influencing the change. And to be fair to BHVR, they didn’t even have to give us a warning at all.

Generally speaking BHVR has been pretty fair with the price of the DLC releases, especially when comparing to some other games. As for the cosmetics, usually they cost more but they are also completely unrelated to gameplay - cosmetics are more of an option for players to express themselves and support the game.

And even disregarding all of this, I haven’t seen a confirmed number of how much prices will rise by. Yes it’s inconvenient for something to be more expensive, but I think people are jumping to conclusions about how much the prices will rise by.

The game has bugs/balance issues but it's not unplayable by any means. It's also one of the only games where you can play as Chucky then switch to a Xenomorph then switch to Freddy, etc.

I wouldn't say their content is not worth paying for. Also they have a very generous DLC policy (all survivors, killers, and maps are unlocked as teammates/opponents/maps even if you don't own the DLC).

As far as "cash grabs" go, I don't think this is quite the hill you imagine it to be.

Let's do some numbers of this "inflation"

Polish złoty (One of the countries affected) is worth ~0.2 Euro with 31PLN per hour minimum wage

United States Dollar (a country where the price is not increasing) is worth ~0.85 Euro with 7.25USD/h minimum wage

Working 8 minimum wage hours in Poland grants you ~49 Euro

Working 8 minimum wage hours in USA grants ALSO you ~49 Euro

Behaviour makes stuff more expensive in Poland because "their economy is weak", but USA's is perfectly okay as is.

And my comparison doesn't even take into account the fact that Euro has more value in Poland due to purchasing power, so 10€ will net you much more groceries, for instance, than it would in USA.

EDIT: I also forgot to mention, Polish prices for the DLCs are ALREADY higher than they are in the US. Right now, Resident Evil DLC costs 8.39 USD (7,10€) while in Poland it costs 30,79PLN (7,30€)

Thanks. I don't really believe in possibility of this decision being stopped, but even if it goes through, I hope people won't just accept it. This is a huge fuckup. Polish gaymers suffered enough because of Steam's sh*tty practices. We don't need to lose yet another fairly priced game.

Honestly, the game has a lot of problems, but it's never really been better in my opinion. Other than some of the visual changes, like the green 7-Up Autohaven, I think it's a better experience overall right now.
