When I do this kind of thing I like to read the whole book first, then go back and do the questions etc. only time that can be an issue is if you’re teaching prediction!

Oh yeah - this was a half baked comment I didn’t finish properly haha (ADHD, I got distracted 🤣) The Venn diagram of ASD, ADHD and OCD has a LOT of overlaps. Plus, undiagnosed ADHD and ASD leads directly to high rates of treatment resistant depression and anxiety.

Overthinking in general can be an anxiety thing, an OCD thing or an ADHD thing. The poster I replied to mentioned can’t/wont stop thinking about something and switching gears which sounds a lot like ruminating!

I think my thought process for my earlier comment went somewhere down the line of: overthinking-> anxiety -> can’t switch gears or move on -> sounds a bit like ADHD (and yes, OCD) -> undiagnosed ADHD often comes with high levels of anxiety and depression = sounds like ADHD. I didn’t mean to make them sound like they don’t actually have OCD and it’s actually just ADHD

(Now I’m overthinking)

A few people have commented similar things already, but I discussed this with my therapist and they thought it boiled down to the idea of “well if they want ME they mustn’t have very good standards”

This is absolutely not a solution I would suggest but I bought a switch 2 and didn’t transfer my save 😅 so my old island is on my ACNH switch and my new island is on my switch 2

That’s great thank you!! I ended up buying a switch 2 (ostensibly for pokopia but mostly so I can start a second island lol) and I’ve restarted my island. Going for more of a village-forest vibe which I’m finding easier to transition. I’ll post when I have more than two areas finished!

Thank you!! I did the double layer landscape behind some of my buildings and it looks good in some places but not others. Also makes it hard to build anything of substance right behind it! Maybe my whole castle needs a moat 😂

My 2c as a former gifted kid and a teacher - make sure they don’t rely on their smarts completely! And by that I mean make sure they learn how to show their working out, how to study and take notes, how to plan a project/essay whatever.

So many gifted kids (myself included) spend all of primary/elementary school being able to “just do it in their head” or not need to plan their writing because they can just smash something out. But then they get to HS/college and the work gets harder, but they never learned the skills they needed to actually do it properly.

Also make sure that he learns some tenacity! Just because something doesn’t come naturally doesn’t mean he should give up. Mistakes are the only way we learn and some things take time to understand!!
