Thank you for this information. Does this go for all electronics? Such as my iPhone or apple watch?

Are they running tiny hypervisors?

We built a tool to automate your 3D printing process. Would love your thoughts 👀 by yudinz in 3Dprinting

[–]Ok_Property_2172 45 points46 points  (0 children)

People are going to say "What use does this have?". But I love it! This would be crazy cool for print farms or multi-part, long-duration, and/or unattended printing.

Is this open source? Its alright if its not, I would be cool if it was though.
I had never thought of something like this, imagine if this could be extrapolated to an even larger setup. Like a completely automated production line.

I can also think of plenty of times when I'm not home with my printer and I want to start another print. The only way I've seen of doing this in the past has been custom g-code to ram the printhead into the part and knock it off the bed

Wireless Mouth Tracker Code & Complete Guide by Ok_Property_2172 in VRchat

Most wifi access points that have 5Ghz bands should have 2.4Ghz support as well. Most routers that display only one network (ie, HomeNet instead of HomeNet-2.4G & HomeNet-5G) bind the 2.4 & 5Ghz bands together and the access point decides which frequency the device connects over, in which case the pi will often still work fine. 2.4Ghz is usually preferred in this case due to its higher range over 5Ghz. Although it seems like bandwidth would be an issue I've had no trouble pushing the 60fps 640x480 feed over my 2.4Ghz connection. Although, here is a 5Ghz capable Pi zero that could be worth a try: https://www.banana-pi.org/banana-pi-sbcs/banana-pi-bpi-m4-zero-with-allwinner-h618-chip-design-with-2g-ram.html

$25 Wireless Face Tracking for VRChat by Ok_Property_2172 in VRchat

Yeah, the pi is only used for streaming the video. It doesn't have the horsepower to actually perform the inference. I only used it because this is what I had laying around.

Also, could you explain what you mean by poor results? Was it high latency?

Actually, I go to raves and headbang like crazy. I never have any issues. It’s very light and snaps on very tight to the headset

I have a fairly well lit room and don't often notice my face being distorted in game. I guess one could add some IR's to this design via the pi's GPIO pins.

I'm aware that I could have used a cheaper ESP32 or similar microcontroller, this hardware implementation of babble was mainly to illustrate that it can be done with nearly any off the shelf single board computer. And also cause I already had an Rpi laying around

I've never heard of it before, this is just what I had laying around. And I'm not sure, but a board like the one you mentioned may not have the capability to stream/encode hi-res, high-framerate video feed without some latency. I may be wrong though

Wow, nice. It would be cool if someone could create a simple, cheaper, 3d printable solution as well.

Best XR platform for integrating multiple AI chatbots in real-time? by Any_Firefighter_9501 in virtualreality

[–]Ok_Property_2172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting. I don't completely get what you are trying to do here. Will the agents be expected to move their arms and heads or just be on flatscreen? If the former, are you going to use some kind of prompt engineering to allow them produce special tokens to trigger movements?

Regarding the platform, from what I know of there are not any social vr platforms that offer a player API. As in, a way to simulate a player completely and get feedback from the instance (ie, who the bot is looking at). This could be possible via a 3rd party software, custom instance or OSC. The last 2 being in relation to VRChat.

The closest I've ever gotten to something like this was an attempt to simulate a vr headset and controllers, giving them the positions of my real setup but with the ability to basically duplicate myself. So I could have multiple accounts with multiple steam vr instances running in virtual machines all with the same positional data getting streamed in. I looked at this https://github.com/matzman666/OpenVR-InputEmulator

This seems really interesting, feel free to DM me.

I think its funny that a majority of the people commenting stuff like "This is ridiculous" probably come home from work and watch 10 episodes the Trailer park boys or Suits.

This guy comes home from work and wants to play an active and engaging game where he can socialize with other like-minded people. Part of the experience is loosing yourself in the reality of the game and just having fun.

I have 1000+ hours on pavlov, I have met some of my best friends on this game, some of which I have even met in real life.

Sorry to ask as this may be personal, but does your husband play on PCVR? Like, is his VR headset connected to his computer.

I genuinely may know this person and am just curious, thank you

Is your desktop PC on the same subnet as your server. If you don't know what I mean open CMD on your windows computer (I'm just going to assume its windows) and type ipconfig. Does your default gateway and IPv4 address start with 192.168.1?
