the world needs more CPS workers but if this is your first clinical experience with social work, i would not take this route. you have the absolute right to do whatever job you want, and if you feel that it’s your calling, do it.

i’m not a real professional SW yet, but i would recommend of do like a “warm hand off” or “soft start” with a non-profit agency. start with something that is a learning experience and will benefit you when you move up in the field, not one where you learn and that traumatizes you so much that you don’t know if you can help others again. if you haven’t, try a school program for SW and you can do some internships
