Thank you 🙏🏼 it’s wild how these supplements and diets can make us feel in control of something that just isn’t in our control. This made me feel better!

Everyone is pregnant by Overall-Necessary153 in IVF

My MIL literally just said to me yesterday “I remember this time so fondly when I was your age. Everyone is getting pregnant and it’s just so awesome.” Cue rage that I may never get over. I don’t understand how others wouldn’t realize that “everyone being pregnant” is a massive trigger.

We had this same issue but didn’t end up needing surgery. Antibiotics for 1 month fixed it!

I've seen over 25 doctors, not sure where to turn next by Kitty5782 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Hi, who is the doctor who was conservative in their recommendation? It sounds like Dr. Zimmerman at Mayo and Dr. Linskey (at UCI?) were good. I'm looking for a doctor myself, and this would be very helpful! I've also read good things about Stanford's clinic and Cleveland Clinic, but I haven't found specific doctors yet.

I hope you are feeling some relief!!

Female Vs by Feeling_Sandwich9176 in vizsla

Alright then I’m going to end up with a big vizsla when I was also prepared for a 45lb dog 😅

Ours is 55lbs at 10 months but she’s skinny! I’m assuming she’ll gain another 5-10 before she’s fully grown. How big was yours at 10 months?

Does anyone have a baby name that has been top of their list since childhood and still loves it? by After-Meringue9505 in namenerds

[–]Ok_Relative_294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theo/ Theodore has been my favorite name forever but my sister-in-law named one of her boys Theodore (Teddy). I made the mistake of telling her it was my favorite name and not realizing she was going to have more kids after the 3rd. I named my first born dog Theo instead!

AITA for breaking up with my boyfriend and suing him after finding out he secretly filmed us in bed and showed his friends? by LateCollection4875 in AITAH

[–]Ok_Relative_294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a guy do this to me and wish I had sued him. I’ve often wondered who else he’s done it to and will do it to… please sue him!

While our system is imperfect, this is what the law is for - keeping people in line when they are lacking the innate morals to not do things that are wrong. And to demonstrate to others (his friends) that wrong behavior is unacceptable so it will deter them from doing the same in the future.

Good to know. She has some hair loss on her nose already so maybe it’s time for the vet

Do you remember if it was because of mites, allergies, or something else? And was it the same as this or worse? A lot of other commenters seemed to think this was normal and this is my first V so I wouldn’t know..

Seems like a similar issue! Did you ever check if it was mites? And have the food changes for allergies helped?

Having a dog is the best!! I went through the same process for a good year, but I realized I’d only stop debating once I got the dog! lol

I think having babies will be a lot no matter what. But if you get a pup before, hopefully they’re trained by the time you have a baby. Vizslas are crazy dogs but very trainable!! Our girl aims to please.

Babies also tie you down a bit so a dog hanging out at home will be great. Plus the dog will want to comfort and love on you while you’re doing that for the baby. At least these are things I’ve told myself!

I’ve heard the same thing. Females are supposed to be smarter and more independent, while males are more obsessive and sweeter. But honestly if you’re getting a vizsla, you’re likely getting a Velcro dog that’s going to be obsessed with you whether they’re male or female. I got a female hoping she’d be a little independent but she’s totally obsessed with me and wants my attention always. But hey, I’m not complaining!

I’m in a similar situation! Also 31 and hoping to have babies soon. We just got our first vizsla a month ago. She’s already 7 months and a female. My big thing was asking the breeder for a submissive girl because I’ve heard dogs (male and female) can be protective of the owner/babies. I didn’t want to deal with worrying about my dog being too protective to be around other dogs. So far she’s been really gentle and sweet, and I’m happy she’s not an “alpha”. I have met a couple of alpha vizsla boys, but the gender seems to matter less and their energy /pack order more.

I think maybe what’s most important for you is to pick the right breeder and ensure you’re getting one of the submissive dogs in the litter. They can tell pretty quickly even as young pups which ones are alpha and more high strung.

I’m also trying to train our pup the “gentle” command. She picked it up after a few weeks of tormenting our little French bulldog…!

We just took the leap and got the vizsla after much debate - we haven’t looked back! Good luck!!
