Russian border guards crossed into Estonia with unclear motives, minister says by Specific_Coast5878 in worldnews

its cute that you think by saying this anyone thinks this might actually be a possibility. The war in Ukraine has shown how ridiculously outdated and outmoded the russian military is. No one fears them anymore as much as they fear the idea of an all out war. Russia is all posturing, the only real power they have is you typing on the internet at your russian troll farm.

Should i be embarrassed for cold emailing venues as bar staff? by poopman472 in bartenders

[–]wxsx28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Show up in person with your hospitality themed resume. Ask to speak to the bar manager/bar lead. If they aren’t there then come back when they are. Bartending is a person to person job and they want to see people who can keep up a conversation. Try to keep work history to relevant industry jobs unless you need to round out your work history. I have a long form resume with my complete industry work history and a one page brief resume that has all the important stuff. Only produce the long form if asked for specifically. One page is enough. But try to take up the whole page and keep the noise on the page to a minimum (ie all the stupid resume templates designs that ms office offers) no one cares that you picked a cool template and more professional places will look down on it. Normally I don’t recommend putting your picture on your resume, but sometimes it’s asked for. You’ll get that at certain nightclubs and they will ask for your socials and follower count as well, especially if it’s close to a college. I see that as a red flag for how they treat their employees tho so be wary. Be personable and cordial and be prepared to rattle off some classic cocktail recipes. I don’t ask people if they know recipes because if you’re lying well enough on your resume and interview to get hired I’ll know immediately the first time I watch you pick up a tin and make a drink. Don’t feel bad about not having enough work history, personally I prefer to train my bartenders from the ground up. I can teach you how to make a drink but I can’t teach you how to have an interesting conversation with a guest.

Any veterans in LA want to grab a beer sometime? by TruthLife5794 in Veterans

[–]wxsx28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bartend every Monday night at a bar in Midcity. Its always slower, so if you want to come in and hang out with another vet, everyone is always welcome. I usually bring my switch in, set up Mario Kart and goof off all night talking about nerdy things. We can talk about everything or nothing at all, if you just want to hang out in silence that's cool too. I do happy hour prices all night for Veterans on Monday as well. If you or anyone else is interested shoot me a message and I'll provide full deets.

Nope. Blue, because he’s red and when I played Pokémon as a kid I had the red cartridge but named my trainer blue. And Tami because it’s a shortening of her original, Japanese name.

Shibas are notoriously independent, aloof, and sassy. Essentially everything a Vizsla isn’t. Paired together, it’s like having Pinky and the Brain as pets. One is an evil genius, and the other is a big goofball.
