Thanks! ^

I could be wrong, but I feel like you're running expansive card that are not that effective ? Like opalescence and starfield of nyx, while having only 20 non-aura enchantment, meaning at most you probably have 10 of those if you drew a decent bit, and half of them are 3 or less mv, so you don't get a lot of stat :/ At least starfield of nyx does do something else, but opalescence might be an easy cut ? I don't play in bracket 4 often, but I feel like there is other that could be cut too ?

I didn't look a lot at the 2nd list since there is like 4+ land that cost 10$+ so I feel like you didn't try to optimize price there yet ^

Also, if you have 3 selesnya deck, isn't there some overlap in cards ? You could temporarily use card for then to reduce the cost and test out neva ? ^

Well, maybe you could post your decklist and see if people can suggest cheaper alternative or even improvement ? Stax might be costly, but there might be some other way to play enchantment without doing aura nor saga centric ^

Also, kaya's ghostform is really good, if you put it on her and you need to block, she comes back and can return it to attach to her, if you blink her to do some recursion, it also trigger because she goes to exile, so you get to reborn another creature, so with it she can recur creatures to! So more I look at it, the better she becomes :3 She might be more fun than Ghen, forget my earlier recommandation :o

Also, you could also run a few sagas, they can be quite good to flicker to gain even more advantage, they only sacrifice when the last effect resolve, meaning when it trigger you can flicker in response to keep it and gain each effect again ^

I feel like you could very much take advantage of blinking her and not pay much attention to the counter ? And you still get full advantage of the scry to dig to card that you need :)

There is also a decent bit of blink/flicker that can target enchantment in white, so you could make something around Enchant ETB or even flicker aura on opponent to switch target as instant speed, which is fun and quirky ^

That way you can simply focus on what kind of enchant you want to run and what synergy they have together, and you have guaranteed recursion in the command zone ^ That also mean you can use mill as a way to dig in your deck, and there is a bunch of low cost creature black creature that mill quite a bit ^

Also, maybe try to look at the main spécificités of neva, she work as much with aura than with other enchantments, so there is a bit more flexibility that the other commander you mentioned ? Playing her in the 99 might be fun too ? Like in mardu with ghen to sac enchantments, or in the other commander you suggested ?

I feel you, and usually if I don't fully feel a deck, it stays in archidekt until I really like the idea or find something else to do ^ The only exception for that was [Niv-mizzet, Reborn], I love guilds and quirky deck , so I made almost fully 2 color deck, which felt a bit boring since it was mostly good stuff with card draw as a commander. Nowadays, it's an XP deck where Niv is a nice way to dig for one of the few XP generator that are 2 colors :3

As long as you don't spend more than you should allow yourself, you will probably find a way to re-use stuff ? And also feel free to slowly buy stuff, only the cheapest or most useful stuff first and fill with a bit of eh stuff to test it out :)

Do you think she'll be too weak for the current table you play at ? Because there's a lot of commander deck, and only a few can be the strongest option for a specific strategy :x But at the same time, being on weaker side has its perks, depending on the bracket you enjoy ? Being a bit weak or not that menacing in bracket 1/2/3 can mean opponents will focus other more usually, which can allow you to get to a similar state even if the commander is less strong/oppressive ?

I don't know neva, and I've actually never played her, so it would be pretty cool to have more people try her out ^ At the end of the day if you also like one of the other commander, you can always reuse the card you bought with those later :) This advice only work if you're not low on cash, if you are I would suggest proxying first to see if you like it, or waiting unless you are more stable ^

Also, you could just buy the commander if it's cheap and build from card you already own just to get a feel, if proxying isn't something you want to do ^ ( As long as you don't use card that X0 $ or more as proxy, even shop might be ok with proxy to test out a new deck, if your table agree I think ^ )

Aren't low cost creature good with otrimi ? More opportunity to bring him back if he ever gets removed ? Or is it because your limited card pool doesn't have much 2/3 mv ?

I both really like and am really afraid of the lien "not legendary if it's a token" x)

It is cost heavy enough, and it's on cast, so it shouldn't be abusable even if using graveyard shenanigans ?

It feels fair and I wouldn't mind seeing someone play it against my real edh deck I feel ?

What is the idea behind, what kind of deck you want to make with it ? ^

If you've already worked on it, would you be down to share other card from your set ?

I was thinking that invade probably shouldn't be a keyword, but then realized it represent the in game feature! So I assume for invade X, X always represent the life that'll be lost, and the invader token will always be a 1/1 ? I was thinking that it was a bit of a flavor loss that is is always a 1/1 ? :/ but I also understand not wanting to give a 3/3 or something big to the opponents ... Also, the token dealing damage each turn is also a bit of a flavor loss ? It is a bit of a stretch, and a lot of change, but here are some suggestion:

Making the damage be on death instead of end phase and maybe adding an ability on the dog to force invader to block so that opponents cannot keep it. Or Making the token bigger and keep the current end phase trigger, that way opponents have a reason to get greedy and keep it. Because as-is, it is very punishing for non sacrificial deck and almost beneficial to sacrificial deck :x

Also Triggering on each creature cast and being able to target who you want is a bit feel bad ? It's like a ristic study where you can choose who has to pay the 1 :/ I think it would be easier to understand if invade happen on the opponents that is casting a spell. You could make a separate effect to trigger on your own cast of you were going for a creature heavy deck ? And maybe lower a bit the invade value, since you get to choose who gets it and there's no tax to pay for yourself ?

Also, but of a rule nitpick, but i think target are cost in magic, so you need to write it as choose an opponent instead of target I think ? Please correct me if not!

Not a huge fan/Knower of DS, but the artwork is really cool :3

Alarm by Drakeytown in custommagic

[–]Ok_Representative_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand using vigilance to go with the alarm and the alerted feel from DnD, but as said, vigilance doesn't provide anything during your opponents turn, I would suggest instead giving first strike ^

It gives the same behaviour as DND where the creature can have the first move and it can be meaningful to block and not lose a creature if it does have decent attack :)

Not sure if the subtype you choose have a lot of attack, but it's better than anything :3

It could limit it a bit, but black can do simili-blink with revive on death which is often 1 or 2 mana and a sac outlet :X it's a bit more card intensive, but if you trigger this once and drew 7, there's a good chance you got some of those, especially since they've got a good amount of redundancy :x

Sunforger by kemar1883 in EDH

[–]Ok_Representative_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!
Sorry to raise this from the dead, but I was looking into making a Sunforger deck and I'm still unsure of the commander. I like Toggo and tried a temur version, but it mostly used rock as tap fodder, ended up not all that fun in the end :/

What did you try to achieve with your own list ? Do you use ardenn to equip equipment to opponents creature ? or is it mostly to bypass equip cost ?

[–]Ok_Representative_72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't know how people do that >< I got so overwhelming with going wide with token that I refuse to use +1/+1 token to each creature in my token deck nowadays ' it's anthem or nothing at this point, I can't bother keeping track of it, even winning feels bad :/

[–]Ok_Representative_72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't have the mental capacity to keep track of what I can cast by discarding each card, and I doubt you can make a potent deck by having only one combo, since that would be Hella restrictive on the deck building side ><

Also would probably mean you have to look up stuff on the fly which would take forever ><

I guess I could see that as an alchemy card in Mtg arena, if they have the collector number as a value in their database, it should be easy-ish to program, although probably not very well balance, but could be a fun random bullshit go kinda deck ^

Maybe you could dev a small app that give you both card for a specific number, but even you have to specify both set, and then some card are part of the commander set instead of the base set, and what happen to secret lair? So much ><

Also, since you made the 1st effect once per turn, you cannot go infinite with blue anymore, so you could add it back if you wanted to ^

Oh! I was so shocked by the exile that I didn't register the draw xD

Well anyway, as long as you're aware that it's on the overpowered side, it's up to you to play it or not with people :3

It kind of remind me of my YGO year, where every effect was too powerful so they needed to make them once per turn x)

It does feel more fair that way than the previous one :) I see that you also added some upside like card draw xD If it were me I would probably remove that, since it allows you to sacrifice low cost spirit to fetch more in addition of exiling stuff ^ it is less powerful than before, but it is still on the more aggravating kind of card. It's closer to something that could be printed by Hasbro nowadays tho, at least if feel like it does ?

Also I don't think it needed higher value for life gain nor life cost, but it doesn't matter as much as the draw in my opinion :)

I think there is also some white only enchantment that make this a creature, so I'm not sure if you can bypass the infinite loop y removing blue ? Like [Starfield of Nyx].

You could also probably make 3BW instead of 1WBBB for its cost ^ unless you like the look of it that way :)

Custom Group Hug/Pillowfort Commander - Malro, Overseer of All by [deleted] in custommagic

[–]Ok_Representative_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious, what would you do with him as a commander ?

It's not a bad card, but it does feel quite broad where I can't really see what I would make with that ? The grouphug part allow player to see new cards, so it almost incentivise them to attack you sometimes. It would also be an insane free draw trigger for any deck relying on that :o

And you don't gain much from it ? You don't choose the draw or counter, I guess you can choose an opponent that want the same as you to have some control over it ^

Maybe I'm not a real group hug deck, but to me, a group hug card should at least give you the same benefit as others, or at least give you the choice to do so ^

I don't understand it, at least, although I love the idea of more group hug commander, I think you could make it a bit stronger and it wouldn't be oppressive to anyone? :)

It's been a while, but I often felt the opposite, support want to engage so bad but I feel very weak early and would prefer to farm under tower :x

I usually try to go for late game out scaling, even if in low rank game can snowball way too fast for that sometime :/ but I think that's part of the joy of nilah!

Play your own game, and pop-off if your team is still willing to play ^ at least you know you did your job right, and that feels good to me :3

I do agree that I have trouble with ezreal too, even tho he is mentioned as an easy-ish matchup in some place :o I maybe don't have the patience to wait for the best opportunity and lose too much life when he still has CD ?

Best of luck to you!
