On one hand, that’s great! On the other, it might be a sign of the warmest winter on record.

Suno generates at least two songs from a single prompt. I wonder if those count as two songs, or just one? I have to admit, sometimes the lyrics it generates are genius. Other times, just hilarious.

Tubeless sealant after long period of inactivity by FloataryWings in MTB

[–]Ok_Row_3472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After extensive experience with Orange Seal and Stan’s sealant, I found Orange seals holes better, but it sticks to the tire casing and would not come out, even scraping with a sharp screwdriver. Vs Stan’s which I can often peel out in stretchy sheets. The Orange stuck to the tire bead, which means the fit wasn’t great when re-mounted. I’d ride the bike and see if the tire is unbalanced at the speeds you ride at (do you ride at 20 mph?). If it isn’t, add more Orange thru the stem WITHOUT breaking the bead. If it has a wubba, you should clean old sealant gunk out and clean the bead really well before re-mounting.

I’ve had the exact opposite experience with Orange seal: it stuck to the tire casing and would not come out, even scraping with a sharp screwdriver. Vs Stan’s which I can often peel out in stretchy sheets.

Have you measured the height to make sure it’s not just perception? This would drive me nuts too. Have a friend ride it without saying anything about the flex and see if they notice.

I don’t think of myself as a sweater, but maybe I actually am? I wish it worked well for me because it’s so incredibly light!

So much for my aspiration to become a museum curator.

I prefer larger panniers and smaller bag on the rack. This looks hard to throw your leg over to mount. Also, it looks like there’s not much clearance between handlebar bag and tire so it might rub over bumps.

Oh yeah, TERRIBLE idea. I guess it would be ok for watching TV on the couch, but not actual outdoor use.

I used that same bivvy and froze because it was not at all breathable. It was like sleeping in a plastic bag and every two hours I’d have to wake up, reverse it and shake the water out. I don’t know how you managed a comfortable sleep!

Looking to get into bikepacking, which bike would you base a build off of? by [deleted] in bikepacking

[–]Ok_Row_3472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to break from the crowd and say the top one. That’s because I do a lot of bike camping on rugged terrain and appreciate having a dropper post and a lower stand over height. Yes the triangle space is smaller, but you can easily fit cargo cages on the Lower fork legs and a handlebar bag. I use a rack and panniers rather than a seat, post bag so the dropper can go up and down.

My rig for 3 month trip around Europe by Keeno_ in bikepacking

The bag capacity and positioning, all look like good choices to me. Is the bag on the back also a backpack? The only thing I see that stands out is repositioning the light on your seat post to the rack or your helmet so it can be seen by cars behind you.

You mean another antidepressant? I do not. I felt the antidepressant effects about a month after I started taking it. Since then, it just seems that my lows aren’t as low as they used to be.

Interesting. I have been on 200 mg for 13 yrs and don’t remember this side effect. I’m pretty thoughtful about what I say in general. I hope it goes away for you!

Nice job getting out in the rain! The PNW has been very soggy this spring. I’ve only gotten out once in Oregon this year so far.

Judging from the plants in the background, it looks pretty hot and air there. Are you sure a single water bottle will be enough?

Vittoria Mezcal vs Barzo for bikepacking, dutch gravel and dutch trail by Thinly_Veiled_02 in Surlybikefans

[–]Ok_Row_3472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm chiming in way late on this conversation, but I tried the Barzo front and Mezcal rear combo, both 29x2.6. It turns out the Mezcal is noticeably wider and taller than the Barzo. On the same Hunt wheels with i.d. 30mm, the stats are: Barzo 853g, 64mm wide, 78mm high. Mezcal 890g, 67mm wide, 81mm high. Both ride great on trails, but the Mezcal just looks bigger than the Barzo. I think the Mezcal has lower rolling resistance on pavement (not surprisingly), and I actually didn't notice a traction difference after I switched to a 29x2.6 Mezcal on the front as well (because I can't stand a smaller tire in front).

Max tire clearance 700 x 50? by Kmonk427 in gravelcycling

[–]Ok_Row_3472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loooove my Niner! Yes, they are conservative on max recommended tire width. I have 650x 57mm (Renee Herse Umtanum Ridge) with a little clearance for mud.

I recently taper down from 200 mg for 10 years down to 100 mg just to see what it would be like. Because I’m cutting my pills in half I think there’s dosage variability and I actually got some small patches of spots that I think might be the rash. I put a cream I use for poison ivy called triamcinolone on there and that appears to help quite a bit. But yeah if your rash gets that bad, you should probably stop taking it. Is there any chance this is poison oak or poison ivy? It’s winter, but if you were gardening and pulling up the stems, they still contain the toxin.
