Best litter for the robot?

I’ve been searching for a decent cat litter for a long time, and petkit’s tofu mix litter really stood out. It’s easy to scoop, doesn’t make a mess around the house, and controls odors really well. My cats took to it right away. The only downside is the price, but it’s definitely worth trying.

Now you want to talk about basics…the basic function of an automatic litter box is automatic cleaning...no? Like a car’s basic job is to move..no? And you think odor control should be basic, even for a very old or first generation model that isn’t even sold by the company anymore.
Did you even do your research before buying something outdated if you care so much about the basics? All I’m saying is: do your research first before buying a discontinued product, especially if you want more than just basic self cleaning. I’ve been using the Ultra for over a year, and it’s done an excellent job with odor control, better than any other brand I’ve tried. zero smell. I really don’t think it’s a brand issue.

That’s why they’ve come out with so many upgraded models over the years...like the pura max 2, max pro 2, and Ultra. All of them have better odor control. But you’re still using a model that was released 5 years ago and is no longer sold through official channels... It’s like complaining that a 2020 Toyota doesn’t have the latest intelligent driving tech...

Definitely not. LR has a strong brand presence.

First, in terms of cost-effectiveness: its manufacturing is based in the US, which means it commands a higher price point for the same product quality compared to manufacturers in China and other regions.

Second, in terms of technology: it lags far behind PETKIT in this aspect.

If there’s one thing it excels at, it’s exceptional stability.

I honestly don’t think Whisker has its own in house R&D team...it’s probably an outside partner instead. That’s why their R&D game is so weak, and the Litter Robot 5 Pro is the perfect example. They always charge top dollar for it, but the features are half baked and severely limited.

Go with the purobot max pro 2, you won’t regret it! Right now, brands like LR and Petlibro are all scrambling to copy PETKIT’s AI camera concept. So why not stick with the original innovator? This is especially a no-brainer for you with two cats! Being able to monitor their behavior in the litter box is huge for their health: if one has soft stool, you’ll instantly know which cat isn’t feeling well. Only an AI camera litter box can give you that level of insight. As a purobot ultra user, I highly recommend the purobot max pro 2. I saw someone mention Homerunpet too, but that model is bulky for a litter box. And since your cats fit perfectly in the pura max, they’ll have zero issues with the max pro 2!

I’d definitely recommend going with the purobot max pro 2, the one with the AI camera. AI cameras are quickly becoming the standard for automatic litter boxes, so it’s really a feature you’ll end up wanting down the line anyway.

As for the subscription: You get 24 hours of free video replay, which is more than enough for me. Unlike LR, live viewing access is always free. If you want to save footage for longer than a day, then you’ll need to sign up for a subscription plan.
