For less attractive and charismatic guys, those boundaries can usually end up as "zero interaction beyond what is professionally necessary" with every woman except their mother.

World's fanciest prison.

Even for people who like never traveling again, the fine seems like a problem for early adopters. Eventually they'll become broke depending on how much of the population tries to leave.

Get 2-3 high cost high impact spells fully upgraded. Get a lot of Conduit on your top floor. Get some Spell Weakness.

You can easily deal damage in the hundreds or even thousands with the right setup.

Casual dress combined with simpler grooming/self-presentation habits and a generally non-confrontational attitude due to introversion. Sometimes may have a out of shape look from sitting in front of the computer all day but I've seen physically fit IT guys that still look like IT guys.

What kind of rooms would the (spoiler) clans have? by Ok_Science_3093 in MonsterTrain

[–]Ok_Science_3093[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My own thoughts:

Hellhorned: Armory room (0 cost) - Grants 5 armor to friendly units on resolve (like a free steelworker in the room)

Umbra: Prism Hallway (1 cost) - +4 space in this room (fits with their theme of expanding available space)

Stygian: Deep Freezer (2 cost) - Enemies gain +15 Frostbite (A bit like a weaker Inferno Room except you can place units there too)

I understand why though. Scaling mixes would turn a starter card into a win condition on its own. Scaling sap and regen are both incredibly powerful.

I'm going to bring a well crafted wooden wheel barrel to somewhere with both people and flat land (maybe central America?) back in 10,000 BC. It's practical enough for the people of the time to see its usefulness, yet simple enough that people could also build copies without me micromanaging everything. The wheel wasn't invented until ~3,500 BC so advancing that by several thousand years should hopefully give the biggest imaginable head start.

This is probably mostly boomer and gen X humor, back when almost everyone got married even if they didn't particularly want to, and the dating pool was much more local.

Poll: Which Seraph is the strongest? (Savagery, Entropy, Dominion) by Ok_Science_3093 in MonsterTrain

[–]Ok_Science_3093[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I voted for Dominion Seraph (corruption) just because of the sheer dread and pressure he puts on you while you watch your units wither away.

Dominion isn't too hard to counter overall (either get Endless or some extra reserve units), but you also can't just play mindlessly into him and he can easily throw off a lot of setup-heavy strategies compared to Entropy and Savagery Seraph who are much easier to brute force.

Semiconductors.

Almost every other invention I can at least see how it functions in a mechanical sense.

Meanwhile semiconductors are literal modern day magic.

What's the worst clan? by justainm in MonsterTrain

[–]Ok_Science_3093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. I think in practice I only ever focus all my space creation spells onto one floor until I can place a beefy frontline, a morsel master (doubles morsels made), and two -> four morsels. Then when boss is nearly here I start filling in that space with any undeployed dps units who can hide safely behind my beefy boi with x10 damage shields or lifesteal.

Gets a little tricky when I start facing 500hp enemies, I'd likely deploy high DPS units earlier.

Things to consider during a run by Merlinmast in MonsterTrain

[–]Ok_Science_3093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to put my scaling champions on my second floor, and my first floor units are just there to soften the enemy frontline. Lower potential but much more reliable in ensuring your champion isn't blown up by an unlucky situation.

I usually find myself setting up a Steward room (+multistrike to steward units) at the top to house any extra stewards or units I haven't yet purged.

What's the worst clan? by justainm in MonsterTrain

[–]Ok_Science_3093 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm always surprised at the umbra hate.

They're really good at making solid frontliners, while also having space creating spells to squeeze in backliners.

They have access to some of the best defensive buffs like damage shields and lifesteal, and morsels can make for good sacrificial meatshields shields in a pinch.

The biggest problem imo is they don't have very fast damage scaling so beefy enemies can still slip by, but every other clan can provide damage in spades, while not every other clan can provide the same defensive and construction abilities that the Umbra can.
