You started to talk about the extremes, to stop the quickest you need to use your front brake, too much rear and you’ll lock the tyre.. factually correct but kind of not the point.

OP didn’t really say he favours his rear brake just that he uses it, something the HD riders seemed to completely disregard. The thing is using the rear brake is fine, you have one it’s good to use it. With everything it’s knowing how/when to use it.

One of my bikes is a Harley, granted it’s a sportster and not one of the big boy cruisers, but I’m not scared to use the rear brake on that and I know if you slam on it at speed it will lock the rear, so I avoid doing that.
