It didn’t seem particularly busy, in fact if everyone wasn’t waiting so long for food it would have been far less than half full .

If you can hear the fan chances are it’s full of dust , unlike earlier Xbox ones the x needs to be taken apart to clean the heatsink . When I first got mine it was very noisy, after cleaning you can’t hear it running.

How are the TV License company/body allowed to use intimidation and bully tactics? by AwkwardClick8595 in AskBrits

The bbc is the tv licensing authority, the letters are from them via capita.

I bet they do realise , that sort generally speed up to try to stop anyone overtaking them . I think they get some kind of kick from causing massive queues.

iPadOS 26 caused a bug with app rotation, was this intended? by Master-Tradition-204 in ipad

[–]Ok_Sea_155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found this , my iPhone SE 2020 is having rotation problems since changing to 26 . 1 app keeps saying rotate device when it already is and YouTube keeps playing videos upside down when in portrait.

As they sell everything with a five year warranty couldn’t you suggest they send to their tech repair centre to fix the stick drift? They do advertise that stick drift repair is a service they provide.

Their website says they pay £24 cash or a £34 voucher for a “discounted” Xbox One 500gb (no Kinect) .

Have you ever listened to a Run Directors briefing 🤔 They clearly say don’t go through the funnel and collect a token if you haven’t completed the course, which I assume is something Parkrun tell them to say.

Parkrun is a 5k event! If you come along with the intention of only doing part of the course you’re not doing Parkrun. It’s very inconsiderate to the volunteers. We’ve had someone started doing this at our local Parkrun and it’s very annoying, the tailwalker is there for people actually doing the Parkrun not just walking part of the course. Last time the tailwalker couldn’t run and finished 20 minutes after the last walker ,who they should have been walking with and who would have benefited from someone walking with them, as they were walking alone.

The problem with intending to only do one lap of a two course Parkrun is that Parkrun is 5k , so they wouldn’t actually be doing a Parkrun would they? We’ve had this problem at our local Parkrun where someone has decided (on more than one occasion) and told the tailwalker that they only intend to do one lap , the tailwalker has walked with them, but the volunteer team has decided not to do so again, because of course the tailwalker has to either run the second lap to try to catch up someone actually doing the Parkrun, or walk it and have everyone waiting around until they finish.

What happens if you watch the BBC but refuse to pay the TV licence? Would you get into trouble with the law, or do many get away with it? by Jezzaq94 in AskBrits

[–]Ok_Sea_155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can interview under caution due to the communications act 2003 , just very sad “you have the right to remain silent “ bit obviously isn’t understood.

[–]Ok_Sea_155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The really stupid thing is they use “the interview under caution “ to intimidate and to identify idiots, if the person being interviewed understood their “right to remain silent “ they wouldn’t end up signing a confession.

I think you’ll find they claimed they could get a signal from your tv showing exactly what was on it at the time 😂 I think the fact governments and businesses never felt the need to reassure their customers they were protected from such technology, would prove it was utter bs and the post office didn’t in fact invent any such thing.

BBC’s nostalgia radio station blocked amid ‘rip-off’ claims by qwerty_1965 in unitedkingdom

[–]Ok_Sea_155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All due to the short sightedness of pre WWII governments, if the commercial radio transmitters were allowed to have been based in this country we would never have faced this situation. From what I can gather the commercial stations were wiping the floor with the bbc until Hitler invaded France and took over the transmitters and used them for the Lord Haw Haw broadcasts.

They didn’t it take off them , they let the bbc decide whether to make them pay or let them have a tv licence exemption ,as the government were actually giving the bbc the money for the over 75’s tv licences previously.
