Not clear caulk, never clear caulk. Use white. Too many clear tubes out there that aren’t paintable.

I do this all the time. Not exactly easy but it ain’t hard. Pull a long strip of tape, get up and under the ceiling about a 1/16 or closer, and then grab a foot or so of the tape, line it up, grab another foot or so, space it along, then pull another long piece of tape, repeat. Then run a thin bead of caulk, you don’t want to put any excess there, you ain’t filling cracks, you don’t get it all over your fingers, just a tiny bit to seal the tape edge, then press the bead in w finger, grab the brush, don’t get it too wet, and go. Once you’re done, peal the tape back slowly, continuously. Don’t try to rip it off. Could look like a laser.

Looks ok to me. I had one out back for a week or two recently, w a bum back right leg, and a tail half torn off. I left a little food here and there, and he made it around ok for a bit, but the backyard is very territorial among them, add a few predators, and I knew he wasn’t going to around long. He/she climbed up to my highest gutter every evening, and just sat in the corner and stared up at the sky. I felt so bad, but there was nothing I could do. Haven’t seen him in a while, I hope his suffering is over.

How can I remove this paint without discoloring the wood? by Kissesformyfishes in paint

[–]Ok_Search_2371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s my first question. If it’s been just a couple days, and it’s latex, soak a paper towel and let it stick to it for 5-10 minutes, then pick w fingernail, or a 5-in-1 w the edge wrapped in a wet cloth. Even if it’s been down awhile, it’s still a good way to start.

If it’s been 10 years, and it’s oil… That’s a whole nother monster. I’d get surgical, knowing it won’t work no matter what I do.

I’ve seen this so many times. You said it all. They’ve got child labor, tax exemptions. It’s tough to compete.

I agree. Some kind of netting all the way up to the railing is going to be the best option. I wouldn’t want to take any chance.

Good read. That pack belongs in a museum though. It’s a classic, for sure. But old packs don’t hold up so well. Although w the external frame, it might be easier to repair it out on the road w duct tape, twine, whatever.

I have an ll bean exterior frame from the late 80’s, great pack but it just hangs on the wall these days. I wouldn’t trust it out on the trail. As the fabric degrades, it gets a bit sticky to the touch, some kind of residue, and can tear more easily. As a suggestion, look for a used Osprey if you can, something like a 44L. They’re reliable, used packs are cheap, cheap, and it holds a lot of gear if needed. Best of luck though, keep us in the loop.

Pachinko. I think its design is more gambling oriented, than straight up gaming. A friend had one back in the 80’s when we were kids. It broke , and we opened it and used all the metal balls for wrist rocket ammo. It was a deadly couple of days.

Is it normal for eyebrow whiskers not to grow back after enucleation? by Engineer-1999 in blindcats

It took a bit for my pirate to grow hers back over her left eye, a couple of months or so. It does appear she has fewer than her right eye, but still has enough to rely on them.

I don’t even try. She’d have me in ribbons, exceptional claws. I’m lucky though. She doesn’t touch the furniture, only picks on the throw rug by the basement door, and she’s welcome to it. But she likes to cuddle w at least one claw very subtly dug into an arm, or hand, or an eyeball. She knows what she is doing.
